Media pretending Ron's 4000 person events in MI aren't happening

I see all of that, I'm not blind nor am I depressed. I'm just being objective and I recognize that the big problem: it doesn't translate into votes which is what really matters. (yes delegates matter more but given the corruption I seriously doubt they don't know how to control that aspect and prevent Ron a win)

But you do what you have to do. I wish you'd succeed, I just can't objectively see more than a microscopic tiny chance of you actually pulling it off.

I just want to know what anyone is planning on doing about it. I'm down for some mass non-violent protests. I'm tired of feeling like a prole, and I'm tired of feeling like our movement is subject to the media's coverage. I'm perfectly fine with others having a difference in political opinion, but I'm sick & tired of my friends, relatives, and neighbors being duped by what they consider honest journalism.

If there is hope, it is in the proles; the tired, disgruntled masses need to rise up. What's the plan? Count me in.

I'm just noting it. I haven't figured out what we do about it except Ron's way, breed our own journalists, politicians, etc. Support those like Ben Swann and Glenn Greenwald who are objective (Greenwald is objective, he just is economically a liberal.)

You are absolutely right. The only barrier is the kind of people you have to spend so much of your time with. We need a critical mass to go in together so it can be a more pleasant experience.

bottom line , delegates are not counted until tampa. This race is far from over,(note jnz this part is not directed at you) and has not a GOD DAMN THING to do with dreams or hopes. It is about delegates. We can win the gop nomination in tampa being in 1st or 3rd in delegates count unless the gop status quo loves obama!

I am telling you by the time tampa comes we can WIN being top 2 even 3rd in delegates. There are only 2 options for the gop in tampa, Ron Paul or Obama! Three of a Kind Leaves only ONE, Ron Paul

The internet is gaining power and that works in our favor. The question this election is Has the internet gained enough power to help get Ron Paul elected? We'll know that in August, but as long we keep plugging away and prevent garbage like SOPA and others from restricting us, we'll eventually win out as TV and other old media goes by the wayside. Might be a couple of decades away though...

The most aggravating part is we've got an incredible liberty candidate this year and we're not sure when we'll have another that's this good. 10 or 20 years from now when the internet is everyone's #1 news source hopefully we'll have a few more Ron Pauls.

ABC halved the count... and "students only"

About 2,000 students cheered him at a Monday afternoon rally at Michigan State University in East Lansing.

From now on campaign, froum... double the attendance numbers for every event!

The media covers the candidates that have won. It is just the reality of the situation. Fred Karger is still running and is on the MI ballot and the media isn't covering him either.

It doesn't translate into votes BECAUSE the media makes a huge deal of saying 'he isn't contesting' a state where he is drawing thousands in attendance. If the covered him objectively this would turn into votes.

that he's drawing thousands and if the media covered him as they cover others with those numbers, some enthusiasm would naturally grow. He does still have a chance to win, but they are making darned sure that anything they can do so that after super Tuesday he won't, they do.

I think it's time to draft a formal petition that politely asks (begs) Ron to stop giving his stump speech and start delivering real fucking substance that both his supporters and the media can sink their teeth into.

I welcome freedom of speech and support everyones right to express their feelings but you come across like a real depressing sort of character; a doomsday type whose glass is always half empty.

Ron Paul is on the brink of a surge and doing great everywhere, polling higher than Obama, pulling 4,000 people to a rally and here amongst all the positivity you appear as the grim reaper.

Try being positive and smiling, you'll find life so much more enjoyable.

really? haha. try not judging people and you'll probably enjoy life even more than you do now. I honestly hope you are right about the surge.

At any rate, I was just trying to convey the attitude of the common voter and spark a discussion about what could possibly be done about it.

Regarding the downer tone of this thread: Ron does seem able to turn out rockstar type event numbers. But there is a downside to this: A lot of those people think going to a rally is all that's necessary and they don't vote. Some of them tend to be too young to vote. And some are from out of state, and follow Ron around to rallies like he's the Grateful Dead.

The other problem is that relying on delegates means we have to rely on the R party to act fairly at conventions. And we know from long experience that this won't happen. I've been involved in two conventions here in NV, '98 and 2008, where the party was willing to break the rules and/or run from the convention room and shut off the lights to keep candidates from getting their earned number of delegates. We know that TX and LA decided to use the "deaf convention chair" gambit. I expect a lot more of this one. And MO intimidated delegates with hot light interviews challenging their legitimacy, suppressing our turnout.

If Ron doesn't start winning the vote in a state or two, these tactics will all be in play again and, as we see over and over again, the media doesn't give a flying fig and won't even report the facts.

So, Ron really does have to win a state or two to help us on the ground out. I'm a delegate in NV and I'm already hearing of suppression tactics being used. Ron can help us by picking maybe two states and living there until they vote. That would give us the ammuntion, along with the latest poll that shows only Mittler and Ron beating Obama.

I see a campaign that is capable of growing and actually accomplishing a lot. And Ron seems to be going out and doing what we've asked him, to campaign hard. Now he has to focus on one or two winnable states.
