McCain "straight shoots" himself right out of the campaign

Maybe Keith Oberman and some of the others will pick up on this.

We should do what we can to call attention to it, too.

You digged a blog entry of two lines? No wonder DIGG buries all of our stuff. Earlier was a digg of the same blog with a link to a youtube instead of a direct link to youtube. Ridiculous.

I share your sentiments exactly. As someone who was introduced to RP through Digg, I appreciated articles that had real substance. These, however, are annoying to the average Digger and may result in people being turned off to Paul inadvertently. Maybe if this wasn't linked to a Ron Paul blog of only two lines it'd work...try a clip of McCain actually saying that, IMO.

Please put the following text in it:

Senator John McCain commits a 'faux pas' at the Fox Debate on 1/10/2008. Mr. McCain spontaneously interjected the following statement into the proceedings of the debate:

“I don’t want to trade with them. All they want to trade is burkas.”

Does Mr. McCain's broad generalization match the definition of racism?

"Racism: discriminatory or abusive behavior towards members of another race"

h ttp://dictionary.reference.com/browse/racism

It would also be helpful to put in a link to the video of it specifically, once it is available.

Full quote from Washington Post Online:

McCain said: "I'm not interested in trading with al-Qaeda. All they want to trade is burqas. I don't want to travel with them. They like one-way tickets."

------

Most racist when taken in the context of Ron Paul's statement regarding trading with Arab nations.

The neo-cons might, but the CNN types surely are obliged to at least address it. It is newsworthy because of its racist content -- particularly, as I said before, if the use of the phrase "Islamic terrorist" is up for debate.

Put that line in print, sign Ron Paul's name to it, and James Kirchick has a racism story.

on top of all this i missed the part where al qaida is even a country to trade with. It surely isnt on any of my maps. So Id like to understand where Mccain got the idea that ron paul wants to trade with a terrorist organization.

Exactly, that was the first thing that went through my mind when he said that. See how they lump all people in the Middle East in with terrorists?

EXACTLY. If someone can get what Dr. Paul said in the lead up then we would have ourselves one hell of a quote.

I wish. The news people love McCain. I barely saw any of the 100-years-in-Iraq comment covered.

Yesss! I thought the same thing! WTH is wrong with McCain? I swear he sounds like he has been drinking or something. He makes no sense at all. The comment was way out of line. Who is he to mock their culture??? They wear head coverings, so what!!!

I think the bigger faux pas was when Ron Paul said he wanted to trade with Arab nations, McCain assumed they were all Al Queda.
