I got to thinking more about his answer and I've come to the conclusion that McCain is a shitty politician, and I don’t mean that as a compliment.
A "good" politician would have said something like…
“Ron and I agree on many important issues. We both want peace in Iraq. What we differ in is how we go about achieving it."
"We both want sound currency, but I believe that we get there by reforming the tax code, eliminating waste and setting into motion policies that will promote investment and insure prosperity."
"We both want the constitution to be followed, so if elected I promise that I will only appoint Supreme Court justices that I believe will follow the rule of law."
"We are both lovers and defenders of freedom, that’s why as president I will be determined in my efforts to support our most valuable resources, our troops, in every way possible."
"So I would welcome his supporters to our side, as the alternative would be much worse from their perspective.”
Something like that coming from John McCain would all be pure bullshit and I realize that, but my point is he couldn’t even come up with something even remotely similar.
"Good" politicians (which is an oxymoron, I know) have the ability to BS on their feet.
I think McCain is losing it.
Ron Paul is a shitty politician too. But in his case, I mean that as a compliment.
well said
