McCain in trouble for sleeping with lobbyist.

Am I missing something? I admit to only a cursory glance of the several articles on this "breaking news," but I do not see anything corroborating the allegation (of this thread's topic) that McCain slept with a lobbyist.

Remember how the Lewinsky scandal was denied and there was no corroborating information available until the dress was unveiled?

Big players like NYT won't publish something without any EVIDENCE. The last thing they want is a retraction and less people trusting them..

I hope dirty MSM would keep this scandal alive beyond 3-4 days until NYT shows real evidence.

Personally, I think McCain's campaign will be dead within a month.

I think his big failure here was to deny everything. If any of the allegations are verified, then he will be caught in a series of lies.

Why is everyone so excited about this? So this gives more power to Hillary and Obama who are just as scum as McCain is? And then what? What is this gonna do?

It's like all goes as planned.

I'm not a democrat, so I'm not concerned about which one of them will win their nomination. I'm excited because it provides an ounce of hope that perhaps we may have a brokered convention.

Y'all live in a different country than I do. While I don't disapprove of any attempts to show McCain for what and who he is, I have no more interest in determining a person's guilt before the facts are widely available than I do in the media having obvious/final authority on everything they publish simply because they logically shouldn't risk their subscription base.

To do otherwise would mean Congressman Paul is a racist, Senator McCain has the Republican nomination for President, President Bush knew of WMD in Iraq, and lying regarding an extramarital affair constitutes High Crimes against the United States of America.

Take the damage for what it is and use it -- there's no need to spin it into something even worse until that becomes available.

Dream on.

Whether he slept with her or not...I find this disturbing solely because of the fact that he has this "strong" relationship with a lobbyist.

Well Ron was right when he said nobody can say what will happen/come to light.

At the moment this proves one big thing - we must keep pushing for a brokered convention - it is possible.

If this whole thing goes to a brokered convention we're back to having months to convince people, spread the message, maybe have the media-spin on iraq surge end etc - it's a long-shot but it is not impossible. With McCain/Kennedy and Huckabee the only opponents I won't accept it's over until the last delegate votes.

OK Yes I did have an affair with her and she took the entire thing!

The significance of the allegation is not the one scandal by itself, but its potential to be the 'icebreaker' that allows all the other dirt on McCain to finally reach the mass public, like:

-McCain's adultery with a nurse, betraying his loyal, disabled first wife
-his betrayal of his mistress to run off with an heiress
-his part in the Keating Five
-his role (with Kerry) in betraying the families of POWs
-his dubious financial dealings with this and other lobbyists
-etc.
