The NY Times is going to have to source their implications for this story to have much effect on McCain. Allegations only go so far, but those allegations will have a negative impact on McCain to some degree. People remember this stuff even if it has little truth to it. Personally, I think the rabbit hole goes really deep with McCain, but...they're ALL dirty with the likely exception of Ron Paul.

= over 6 months

= half a year away.

The time will fly by, but theres alot of space there for 'things' to happen.

if theres a Ron Paul resurgance just before the convention - a brokered convention could be interesting.

Depends on how long the media lingers on it, public reaction, and the amount of proof that comes out or other allegations.

The GOP has been known in the past to ask scandalous folks step down "For the good of the party". Sometimes the person listens to them, and if they don't they are pretty much ostracized by everyone else for being selfish and not thinking of "the good of the party".

Can't say it will happen, but if it gets too hot...

EVERYONE READ: Interesting Tidbit on this New York Times story that I think should get out

Drudge had headlined that they had obtained exclusive info from a source that said the New York Times had this story about McCain and a female lobbyist and it was going to be big and was probably gonna run in the next couple days. This was in January just a couple days before the New Hampshire Primary.

I specifically remembered this because it was so close to the NH primary and I was think how this could really benefit Ron Paul if some big negative story on McCain was to break. Well I waited lookin for it but the story never ran and I thought the NYT had killed it or Drudge's source was bogus and there was no story.....Until now

THIS MEANS THAT THE NEW YORK TIMES HAS BEEN PURPOSELY SITTING ON THIS STORY AND IS ONLY NOW RELEASING IT BECAUSE MCCAIN HAS EMERGED AS THE PROBABLE REPUBLICAN NOMINEE.

Can you imagine how different all of the primary elections might have turned out if this story had run when Drudge first got wind of it???

This is just another blatant example of the MSM, in this case the NYT, manipulating the whole political process to favor their chosen candidates. People need to start waking up to this!

There are ZERO ads challenging the voters there "to change the GOP race by voting for the only true conservative still standing"... Zero ads proclaiming that "every vote counts, and that they, as a state, have the opportunity to send the rest of the nation a message that conservatives will not support McCain, that conservatives will no longer support reckless spending etc."

Where did our 30million go? This "scandal" will do nothing save give Hucks another couple of points...

Huckabee can only hope for a brokered convention, which is where we have the delegates, there is not much hope for him.

If this is true and they ran it before New Hampshire, who knows what would have happened. McCain might have been destroyed right then and there. It was New Hampshire that started his entire campagin.
