Walsh's former district and he's endorsed her for it.
Her site suggests she's good on the foreign aid issue, supported defunding Obamacare and seems to have a focus on fiscal conservatism (no social issues are mentioned), not much information other than that. She has Tea Party support in IL. She mentioned she opposed Obama's intervention in Syria but it was somewhat unclear where she stood on the idea of intervention in general given she said Obama was leading from behind on the issue.
2-3 star liberty candidate, or another Marco Rubio?
I'm unsure at the moment, will need to email her campaign.
CAROL STREAM – Republican Congressional Candidate Manju Goel announced she has been endorsed by former Congressman Joe Walsh, who once held the seat Goel is seeking. In a written statement, Walsh said:
“I am excited to endorse Manju Goel for Congress. Manju is a limited government, expanded freedom patriot who can broaden the base of the Republican Party and attract like-minded minorities that the Republican Party has had trouble connecting with. Manju is the personification of the American Dream success story that if you work hard, take responsibility for your actions, and live within your means, you can achieve great things. Republicans and Independents of all colors and religions in Illinois’ 8th congressional district will love and support her. I am behind Manju and the Walsh Freedom Army and I will do whatever we can to help send her to Congress!”
Walsh’s endorsement comes on the heels of two other Illinois Congressman who have placed their support behind Manju Goel, Representative Aaron Schock (IL-18), and Representative Rodney Davis (IL- 13).
