Maine Saturday Open Thread

that total includes all of hancock.

does it include the sixty or so 'found' for Romney over Ron in the recount? (Portland was legitimate, but without that...)

I'm just trying to figure out how much potential fudging we are aware of COULD have impacted it.

Hi Ron,

Hope all is well with you. I was hoping to receive some confirmation on the Limington totals in the new Maine results released by the Maine GOP. Originally, it was reported that the total was as follows:

Romney 4
Paul 20
Gingrich 0
Sanotrum 2

In the new release:

Romney 4
Paul 0
Gingrich 0
Santorum 2

I was wondering if you are aware of this discrepancy?

Thank you for your time, god bless!

At least we made the Maine GOP piss in their pants and good citizens exposed their fraud/incompentence to the media for everyone to see. I hope people would be more sympathetic to our cause. We need the sympathetic votes ^^

also, might have to reconfigure eastbrook totals:

No specific numbers available yet out of Eastbrook, the other community that was caucusing today, but Paul won there, too

Do you think we can ask for another recount if the margin is less than 100? lol That is quite close. Let's see how many more Romney votes they can dig up =P

I think it's time to move on. If Ron won the Maine total by a handful of votes, there would probably be more skullduggery in the counting everywhere else. He was after delegates and got them, and the grassroots wanted this win in Washington, and they got that.

i agree to an extent. this limington number is perhaps my last inquiry. if it's fraud there though, i'll be on this all year.

I think we ought to be more frustrated with the 90 voters who said they were going, but didn't show up.

I'm going to be pissed with the official campaign and/or the people on the Maine For Ron Paul Facebook group that said that we didn't need any more help in Washington County. They were fully staffed, they'll be TCB, and they're more worried about "rogue volunteers" than anything else.

Does this include the remaining 6 Hancock towns? There is also Castine March 3... If we use the 137 that has been floating around, we would be about ten short.

Does the 'down by 111-113 count the result from Rome? I never saw that total (although I expect it was small).

Also, what about Waldo county?

I'd like to say that Maine would be a nice place to move to.. Since 1/3 of republicans think like Ron Paul.

Why do you think 1/3 of the Republicans in Maine think like Ron Paul? Hardly any of the Republicans attended the caucuses. Some of the people attending the caucuses weren't even Republicans before they attended the caucuses. Ron Paul would have likely finished 3rd out of 4 candidates in Maine if it was a primary state.

yup includes rome. report on the forum said we won by 2 votes (3 to 1) over romney in rome. we don't know about waldo county. all we know is what gop reported the second time.

So what would be the count if Romney didn't get all these magical votes from the "revised" totals?

We'd still be down by over 50 votes. What matters is getting huge turnout for Castine. It won't be easy but if we can get 200 people to show up and vote for Ron that would be enough for sure. Everyone in Maine should be working that area.

With the whole iffy background of the caucas, how small of a difference in the vote do you think would have been needed to force a recount in the whole state?
1, 10, 20? or is there no way there would have been one in any case?

They already said they can't do a recount because the slips of paper the voters were on have been thrown away.
