Maine Caucus Results (Thus Far)

Why not just post the results? This is the age of instant information, not censorship. They're probably no more accurate than the Iowa entrance polls, anyway.

At least 3 important reasons:

1) Veracity of the data cannot be confirmed
2) The individual caucus results were meant to be secret and we don't want delegates getting undue scrutiny from the state GOP
3) The gathering organization isn't campaign or grassroots affiliated

I looked at the watch the vote data. there really isn't a lot there, data wise. not a lot of votes were reported. Knox has full county results, which is supposedly complete. Their numbers indicate that turnout was down from 2008. They have very few single town numbers. A tiny fraction of what has occurred already.

Why is the results removed? We are doing as the Maine GOP wants? I don't see the difference. The numbers are known to be out there...makes zero difference.

I don't understand the secrecy? Are we in stealth mode?

Yes, its all part of Ron Paul's secret ninja strategy.

Who exactly are we trying to hide the vote from? I mean, it's not hard to find. I'm pretty sure the campaigns for the other candidates know how to find stuff too.

WLOB 1310 in Maine has on-line broadcast rightnow...talking a lot about our ground game. Don't know if they'll have the governor's whatever.

Sitting here waiting for the Portland caucus to begin. From first impressions its a very heavy Paul and Romney presence. Id be surprised if the others received more than a handful of votes. My initial guess is that the Romney crowd outnumbers us by a bit. A slightly older crowd than I would have thought.

Maine GOP wants it to be a big surprise tonight. If people know who won beforehand, it will spoil the suspense.

Of course, the vote isn't over tonight anyway. Castine is the last caucus March 3.
