Main Problem = People don't think he can win

So I'm a college student and spend half my life on facebook...(yea, lame), but I found out one of my best friends calls himself a Libertarian. I found this ridiculous because he caucused (we're in IA) for Obama. How can someone support Obama when they classify themselves as a Libertarian? He said it was only because Paul doesn't have a chance in hell to get the ticket. If everyone would just look beyond the "can't win" attitude a vote for him, HE WOULD WIN.

Normal regular non-political people don't want their vote wasted....how can we get across the truth that voting for FREEDOM and LIBERTY is not a waste??

(I still haven't figured out how a Lib can support a socialist....they're kinda extreme opposites)

That is only because they do not understand caucus procedures nor the delegate situation. Paul can win this easily without the msm or the popular vote. This is much like a complicated chess game. Just hang in there, study the caucus and delegate process in your state, be a part of it and he will win.

My answer to that: It's not only about votes and elections. It's also about message. Ron Paul sends very important message, and because of our support other polititians are changing their vews and positions.

Ron Paul was raising issues about economy. Now, other candidates started talking about smaller goverment and conservative spending. Rudi, who was concentrating on war and security is out. Others got the message and shifting.

Your vote may not be sufficient to choose the right candidate, but it will ensure that your voice is heard, and other candidates will have to change their position to get your vote in the final election.

The point is about his Super Bowl guarentee from Super Bowl 3. I think hw could go on tv right after a debate with Ron Paul and say "Ron Paul will win, I guarentee it". So what is wrong with that?

For what it's worth, I'm very libertarian but that's just because I think that's the absolute best political philosophy - I don't think socialism is bad, however, if it's done right (like many European countries). So I can definitely see how one could support both ideologies. For example, I'd vote for Kucinich if he was a front runner in the race and Paul dropped out.

Though I wouldn't vote for Obama if I had Paul as a choice.

Ask him what he wins for picking a "winner" that does not represent his principles.

The only wasted vote is one either not cast at all, or cast against your beliefs. How people have been suckered into doing this I still can't figure out.
