Maddow tweets about Ron Paul and civil rights act

MSNBC is just a get-out-the-vote machine for the Democratic Party. They exist to gin up turnout for the Democratic constituencies: African Americans, Hispanics, unions, environmentalists etc. Here's an example of Lawrence O'Donnell on "immigration" as part of MSNBC's "Lean Forward" branding project:

This stuff is all about "Racist Republican from Kentucky is going to bring back Jim Crow so you'd better get mad and vote!"

Every word MSNBC utters, covers and spins is devoted to a leveraging a Democratic constituency for politics and profit.

I was hoping for this moment. I think it's totally going to backfire on them, since they're attacking RP from a liberal point of view while he's in a Republican primary.

Is anyone surprised that Maddow cares more about devotion to Harrison Berguson-style "equality" than ending the warfare and police state? She cares more about what some guy does with his restaurant than what the DEA does to nonviolent citizens.

That is precisely right. They are afraid of losing THEIR people to Ron.

Otherwise they would wait until the general to attack him.

No. It's more than that. The Overton Window is rapidly changing. They need to discredit this Old Right Revival as quickly as possible, because someone more devious than Ron Paul may ram it down their collective throats in the near future. You should have heard Lawrence O'Donnell bloviate that people like Rand Paul should be harshly condemned for making such "ridiculous" comments and that such talk shouldn't be accepted in the national dialogue. This is all damage control and suppression.

Tweeters can retweet this:
@maddowblog Yes, Deja Rand Paul Ms. @Maddow - @RonPaul will win this election just as Rand did *yawn* LIBERTY IS COLORBLIND #maddow #ronpaul

anyone who believes so strongly in totalitarian governments should go get their own country and see firsthand just how wonderful it is living under such rule. I agree, that the leftist are scared shitless of the libertarians... it is much easier to demagogue advocates of war to the rational mind but what about those who advocate peace, love of whom you wish as defined you the individual, and prosperity for all. It has no logical rebuttal and is THE way.

I'd apply this equally to people on the left and the right but yeah, I agree.

The Old Right is coming back.

When you advocate small government on one hand and foreign invasions on the other, the leftists can attack and tear apart your hypocrisy. Pure conservatism/libertarianism can't be refuted.

Before hand MSNBC was kind of pushing us because they didn't take our ideas seriously and they thought we could hinder the other "more serious" Republicans. Now they're see we're gaining momentum and they realize how dangerous we are to their entire worldview. Now they're trying to squash us and it will backfire on them. Getting bashed on MSNBC is a plus to conservatives. If we get the nomination, there's no way our ideas are being stopped at that point.

2012!
