Louisiana's Delegate count

Why is the MSM reporting that McCain is getting 41 of the 47 delegates in Louisiana? Didn't the conservative "Pro-Family" slate win the vast majority of delegates? Weren't they mostly Thompson supporters? Do they not count anymore? Where did they go?

McCain delegate candidates were included in that batch of pro-life/pro-family slate.

I thought McCain and Paul had their own delegate slates.... and that the rest of the candidates (Thompson, Romney, Guiliani, Huckabee) banded together to form the "Pro-Family" slate.

Yes, but a PLPF delegate wrote awhile ago in her blog that McWar, in claiming he had won, listed HER as one of his delegates.

The problem with that?

All PLPF delegates were uncommitted. She was one of them, and she knew of one other PLPF delegate from her precinct alone who, like her, would never support McWar. He too found himself listed by the McWar campaign as a delegate for their man.

Those PLPF delegates are furious and I suspect there'll be blowback as more LA events come up.

Yey!!!! There is so much good news on this forum today that I could burst!:)

looks like the LA GoP is stalling as long as they can. ignoring everyone hoping it will go away.

Simply put, the Pro Life slate is going to vote however they are commanded to by LA GOP, which is for McCain. It's a fair bet to assume that McCain will get 41 delegates.. nothing official of course, just a best guess.

It would seem unnatural for such a conservative slate of delegates to vote for the most liberal candidate, even if "told to do so" by the state GOP.

They were duped, then they found out they were duped. I don't think they will take advice from the party again.

whats with Paul getting 3% yesterday in Louisiana? was that just the Primary vote where no one got 50% ??

and was essentially meaningless as far as the actual delegate count goes?

More importantly, do they know they were duped to keep them from knowing about Ron Paul and his VALID Reagan connections:

Once the delegates admit to themselves that they were duped, converting them becomes that much easier. Fool me once...

With only a (relatively) few people to convert, how difficult can it be one-on-one?

Nobody "won" LA - no 51% majority, therefore the second half of delegates are uncommitted.

Ron Paul took a large portion of the delegates from the first half (behind Sen. McCain). The PLPF *is* uncommitted, and who friggin *knows* how those guys are going to vote... They don't take marching orders from the LA GOP, so I wouldn't worry about that, though...

All we have to do is send all the PLPF delegates info on McCain flip-flopping on abortion (for a starter, check out KnowBeforeYouVote.com) and they will vote for whoever is left in the race besides McCain...

Oh I don't think so...from what I understand they are furious with the McCain folks...I think they'll go for Huck and a little Paul.
