Of all the states up for grabs on Super Tuesday Ron Paul was thought to be the favorite in Alaska. Sarah Palin even commented on CNN that she thought the Texas Congressman would do well and was the man to beat. But after Mitt Romney came out on top people were scratching their heads wondering what happened.

But according to Paul’s Alaska campaign chief Evan Cutler in the Alaska dispatch something wasn’t right and from the looks of it the party didn’t want Paul to do well.

“People were turned away at the polls that were registered to vote due to confusion among the poll volunteers. Voter registration databases were outdated.

I doubt that was a problem because anyone was allowed to register to vote or re-register as a Republican on the spot.

If this is true, and they are quoted as saying the DBs were outdated, then that's very whack.

DBs would have to be updated on the spot.

From what Evan posted as a comment to the article that quoted him, it appeared that poll workers were confused about the rules and turned people away if they weren't registered and weren't in the database. I'm not sure all the poll workers were aware that voters could register right there.

Correct, and that is why it isn't a non-issue as previously stated. This was reported in at least one other state so far where people should have been able to register at the location but were denied and turned away due to poll worker confusion.

Yes, nothing and no one is perfect. The Alaska coordinator says it was due to "confusion among the poll volunteers". Most people knew that anyone can register on the spot so I doubt the poll volunteers would knowingly turn people away saying that they can't register on the spot because anyone who knew the rules could have stepped in and confronted them.

Also, if people did actually get turned away, let's hear it from someone that it actually happened to. What happened in Washington where 800 people got turned away and where it's on video is proof. There hasn't been any out of Alaska yet.

We need one of those famous youtube compilations on ALL the alleged cheating, I know its only alleged but man people go to jail with less evidence then we could provide.

What can been done with the votes already affected? Is there a list of rules for the remaining states so there is no more "confusion"?

Those arseholes that turned people away (because we don't have enough ballots!) can be accused of fraud. Volunteer Poll workers who don't quite understand the process and are doing their best to make things run as smoothly as possible? It isn't their fault. The guys at my caucus weren't completely knowledgeable, but they did their best with the chaos. Sucks that it has to hurt us the most though.

The Alaskan PPP is meaningless, people. There is no primary vote. Yes, there were shenanigans, but we need to focus on winning now.

The caucuses are what matters, and we need help identifying Paul supporters and getting out the vote. With 40% of the state delegates decided, Ron Paul commands over 50% so far. We will lose that lead big in the coming caucuses because the GOP up there is now scrambling to get everyone and their mother out for Romney.

doesn't work for me.
CNBC doesn't have Ron on its front page either.
Tube?

Sorry no tube but the link did work for me. The site uses a CNBC video payer v2.0.0 is what it says it is. You should be able to download the player there somewhere.

Been saying since Iowa we are being cheated out of 1st. We should have at least 6-7 wins. And plenty of 2nds.

We aren't getting cheated. We aren't getting as many votes as the other candidates. We're getting 2 and 3 times more than we did last time though, and that's a very good thing.

Maine GOP takes the Blue GOP trophy for fraud... 84% vote counted declares winner, states it will not include any votes in the future, loses votes to a email SPAM folder? But the "SPAM FOLDER" didn't catch all the Romney voting precincts, just winning RP precincts. It was revealed (unknowingly) by Maine GOP offical to Ron Paul supporters that the Maine GOP were going to sabotage the Caucus against Ron Paul.

That's the guy that needs to be in court.
