Just so you are aware, we are including enough fuel for people to be able to use these vehicles in-town, to get to whatever event they want to get to. We COULD streamline the cost down to the absolute MINIMUM, with the absolute MINIMUM mileage, and the absolute MINIMUM fuel - but we thought we would make things easier for people, since inevitably, more fuel will be required than the specific mileage round-trip from departure to MN and back. The Ronvoys are intended to allow as MANY PEOPLE AS POSSIBLE to get to these events - so 2, 3, or even 4-seater vehicles that get 33mpg are a rarity for this option. Instead, these vehicles get about 15-18mpg, but they are carrying 12-15 people each to these events, so the benefits outweigh the price, as far as I'm concerned - and the PRICE is good too.

If THIS Ronvoy idea doesn't work for you - consider the fact that the Atlanta route to DC and back was just $100 roundtrip - and we filled THREE VANS FULL of revolutionaries. There are SOME routes that will benefit more, for certain events. It just so happens that Minneapolis is further away than DC for some people this time. Sorry you're not pleased - but I still find it completely unnecessary to try to convince others not to take this option, just because it doesn't work for YOU.
Then you are trying to convince them to find a MORE expensive option just because you THINK in the end it will be less expensive, with time and whatever.

You can fly to St. Paul. Enjoy paying for your rental vehicle while you're there. Enjoy paying the roughly $100 (I saw in another post) to take a cab from the airport into St. Paul to stay at your hotel. It makes FAR LESS sense, in my opinion, to do it that way - but whatever. That's what makes this country great, right? We all have the freedom to choose for ourselves the best option for us, and us alone. :rolleyes:

Well I for one appreciate the work you have done Susan. If it weren't for Ronvoy there would be no way I could go to Rally For The Republic and anyone who critizes the Ronvoy can SAD :)

Gin, are all the Ronvoys converging together into Loretto, or are you using other sites as well? The Loretto YMCA camp, if it can actually hold all Ronvoyageurs, should be a blast!!

edit - I hit all the 'more info' links, looks like you are all coming together there! Enjoy, and if Ronvoy leaders having some local contacts to lean on if emergencies arise and questions pop up is valuable, feel free to pm me and collect mine, though I suspect you already have some. For whatever it's worth you guys will be quite close to the Medina Ballroom & Medina Inn where we've already lodged/reserved a good number of our people into as well, because the price is very, very reasonable there. So non-ronvoyageurs, if you'd like to be close and maybe get the chance to connect with and meet some of the Ronvoy group because you're just a few miles apart, the Medina Inn has a few spots left and puts you right there in the heart of the western Hennepin Co lakes/parks region as well, for a very reasonable price that may offset the longer drive in.

Yea it is! With Meals even!!!! Plus.... to lodge with 225 liberty minded folks is awesome! Camp Mawavi in DC was rocking. This site seems to be a bit more close quartered then in DC which was spread out more. I can't wait. Susan is the greatest at finding the best spots to camp.

I will be providing snack/light meal items for Saturday night and non-meal time munching for all. If anyone has anything special in mind, please feel free to post it or pm me. I am probably bringing the same kind of sandwich/munchie stuff that I brought to DC. As well as some drinks.

I'll also be sure to have a Coffee Pot this time (30 cup) if the camp doesn't have one. (Susan?)

Susan Wolfe is actually the organizer of the Travel/Lodging. I am merely a helper and organizer of the Richmond/DC ronvoy. Shoot her a PM as I am sure she would welcome some help from the local meetup/residents.

That is awesome that we will have others lodging close by.... I am also hoping to make it up to the Ronstockers camp for an evening as it seems to be where alot of the core RPF's folks are going to be and sounds to be alot of fun as well.... :)

Mrs. Susan Wolfe- I agree, will Ronvoy be making a dropoff stop before the events, and a pickup to go home?

We understand that Ronvoy can't be a chaffeur for the rally. Ronstock is supposed to provide it's own transportation to St. Paul for the events. Just wondering if the people who are using Ronvoy to get to MN would be able to get dropped off at the Ronstock site and forgot about till they have to go home after the rally? lol

Remember:

Some people traveling Ronvoy are using Ronstock to have lodging because it's cheap. If they had money to blow, they would have gotten a plane ticket.

So...

Here's the question:

After I get picked up from Raleigh and depart via Ronvoy to St. Paul, I want to find a way to get to Ronstock, from there, Kenny and the crew who organized Ronstock have already gotten transportation to transport the ronstock"ers" to St. Paul to attend the events. I enjoy my stay in St. Paul while Ronvoy supplies for transit for those who are using Ronvoy lodging options. When the rally is over and ronvoy departs, the Ronvoy travelers staying at Ronstock would travel Ronvoy because they paid a ticket anyway.

I think in the meeting you were under the impression that we were expecting you to transport all Ronstock members for the rally. This is not true. We wanted to ask you if the people who have bought ronvoy tix and are traveling by Ronvoy would be dropped off at Ronstock. That was all, no transporting in St. Paul in between because Ronstock has that taken care of. The Ronvoyers just need a extra drop-off and and extra-pick up on the way home.

:) you know, you could probably turn this into a service to be provided for all conventions. you've got the mechanism in place.
I think this is the greatest idea ever in logistics.
