Yeah but, they couldn't finance the wars without the Fed now could they. The public would be outraged if visible taxes were raised to pay for them. Better the hidden tax of inflation.
It's the sound bite that counts, combined with what people see. A Veteran's march. You don't try to explain that to people by a rally like this, you stick to an identifiable message. A veteran's march like this was an opportunity to kill two birds with one stone, ending the wars and electing RP. So what do they chant with most uniformity? 'End the Fed'. So the average American, should he ever even see it, scratches his head in confusion. Ugh.
Go back and read the comments on this thread. Most of them are one liners about how squishy we're feeling. Forget about what we're trying to accomplish. It reminds me of freerepublic.
