Live now: Baltimore looting, burning, rioting

I concur wholeheartedly. Even if the police were guilty of murdering this guy trashing your own neighborhood is an ignorant and counterproductive response.

Does that include these guys?

AF, no doubt there is way too much police violence in the US which I condemn in the strongest sense of the word. But is stealing a Russian reporters handbag (see my thread) the proper response? Or burning down a convenience store? Two wrongs don't make a right.

That's the problem.

We talk.

Others do...even if wrong they do.

Screw that reporter and her stupid handbag, she never should have brought it down there in the first place. She wasn't down there serving food to the homeless; she was down there attempting to help her employer profit off of other people's anger, hopelessness and shitty situation.

As all of the grown-ups talk about principals, rights, abuse and struggles, the teens are using the latest social media app to ask each other "what place we gonna hit next to get some good free shit?!"

Free shit. That's what this has transformed into.

Yes, agreed. These random acts of illegality must be condemned. Law & Order is the fabric that holds this great country together, and it must be maintained.

Thank you, for your continued support for the laws of this great country.

Those guys were grabbing sneakers and jeans too? I really wish this was a riot to get behind.

No, but when you read the accounts of the riot that caused that, you'll see they stole the 18th century equivelant: ropes, hay, livestock, silver pieces...that sort of thing.

And that most of the mob was drunk.

Yeah they are using it as an excuse to rob and burn down the stores.

The people doing that are not protesters, they are thieves and vandals.

Those items all have functional uses. Sneakers and jeans are mere garb made in some Asian sweatshop as opposed to something valuable.
If I have the choice of grabbing a generator or a firearm, I'm not going to take designer jeans and limited edition Nikes. Their priorities are so effed up, I don't know where to start. Fashion slaves that live in closets. C'mon.

Yes, not to mention, this lawness invites further lawlessness. If there's enough lawlessness going around, eventually someone will muster the misguided courage to start attacking police officers. And we certainly wouldn't want that; these brave officers have a dangerous enough job as it is.
