Live Blog for Minnesota Caucuses

It's still early here. We were told since SC that the four caucuses were where all the money and time was going to be spent. Let's see if they can deliver on this or not. Perosnally, if we don't win tonight I need to step back and take a break from all this. Way too much time out of my day

Same. Doesn't look like enough time and money was spent. That or the media boosting santorum? If the media has that much power though we are screwed regardless.

Minnesota Patch: With more than 5 percent of the ballots counted, Ron Paul's second place showing is getting stronger; he now has about 26 percent of the votes. But Santorum still has 42.58 percent.

CNN is using exit or entrance polls. I hope they are DEAD WRONG so they look like the assclowns they are.

Wow! Now that you guys mention it, I caught something too. I can't hear the dialogue, but body language is where I am really good at. When the camera pans back to the vote counters, there's another older guy blocking the view, and he looks very suspicious. The two guys counting votes seemed a bit panicky when the cameras were on them. Let's get this clip, prove it, go viral.

I didn't see a big boost with the media honestly. I think it is part viability and part campaigning on his part that is doing this for him tonight. I just know that I am tiring of pouring over poll crosstabs, making calls, etc. It is hard to keep up the energy when all my past experience (25 years of this) is saying that we need to get a win tonight or it will be 10 times harder to do so in MI & AZ, and 20 times harder on Super Tuesday.

Shakopee Patch: Paul 2 and Santorum 2 so far. Although there are 12 precincts meeting in shakopee there are 38 total who will be calling in their results to shakopee.

Anna Schier (Inver Grove): Totals are in for HD 39B: Santorum-132, Paul-96, Romney-54, Gingrich-30, other-1

Fridley Patch: Fridley precinct 3-2 straw poll: Huntsman 1, Gingrich 3, Romney 7, Paul 9, Santorum 23.

Golden Valley Patch: Ron Paul supporters slooowly starting to trickle in to the Metropolitan Ballroom in Golden Valley.

James Sanna: "Caucus to our advantage bc the most passionate show up. Most ppl don't even want the caucus system anymore," says Southwest Minneapolis resident Judy Shea, a Ron Paul supporter. She and her son-in-law Chad Weigelt turned out along with many other Sw Mpls Ward 13 Paul supporters. Well-organized, they seem to have swept the selection of delegates. Kris Broberg, former city council candidate and Paul supporter, told me that while the straw poll-which Paul also seems to have won here-is important in picking "who wins," it's the delegates that really count in getting support for Paul at the congressional district and national conventions.
