Live Blog for Minnesota Caucuses

samarapostuma: St. Michael B1A precinct GOP caucus results : Romney 5, Gingrich 6, Paul 12, Santorum 32 @StMichaelPatch Pretty consistent votes around STMA [via Twitter]

Richfield Patch: Santorum is leading with Paul in second in Richfield ...

Richfield Patch: Caucus Chair Craig Marston on Santorum's lead in Richfield: "I am really surprised."

Well I would think Romney will do better in Minneapolis/StPaul which is where most of the votes are. It's way too early to assume anything. I will wait for it to get up to around 40% precincts before setting expectations.

How is he leading? Is there seriously a state full of people enchanted by Santorum?

LOL wtf

Fucking Rick Santorum.

There are people out there voting for Rick Santorum. Dear Lord, country.

It's all about viability. Many of us have been saying this. Santorum has won before, Paul has not. He is still an unproven commodity and there are a lot of people that will not vote for a candidate if he has not shown he has the ability to win. While it may be a silly reason, it's the reality of the situation. It's also the reason most Bachmann, Perry and Huntsman are out of it. It is so hard to get people to vote for you when you haven't proven yourself.

Not that MO really mattes, but damn, Santorum just jumped up to a huge lead WTF America?

James Sanna: And the votes are in for southwest Minneapolis' Ward 13, precinct 5 delegates: six for Paul and one for Romney. Two Romney supporters are tied for first delegate.

St. Louis Park Patch: Santorum appears to have won Ward 3. We'll get results from rest of SLP soon.

They might be so small that they throw their votes into another county.

That's what I am thinking. It is likely their population center borders another county so they just vote there.

Looking at a map that appears to be the case. Their biggest town is right on the border of the county to the north of them

To be fair to those of us in MO, Santorum is the only one who campaigned here for this useless primary. Newt isnt on the ballot. But, I am disappointed with the results here so far.

Richfield Patch: So ... looks like I may not have totals until late tonight or tomorrow. Marston said he couldn't share them until they were turned in. ??

HERE WE GO AGAIN

Apple Valley Patch: Apple Valley precinct 4 is close -- 12 Santorum, 10 Paul, 9 Gingrich, 7 Romney

Yeah the room shown on CNN just said the same thing. They aren't counting the votes where they were cast. They're moving the vote envelope to another room for counting. Here we go again indeed.

Lake Minnetonka Patch: Over 40 precincts are caucusing at Orono High School. Some results are in but being kept from pesky Patch editor by pair of H.S. girls.

HAHAHAHA

But it does matter. Maybe if Ron campaigned there and spent some money we'd have a win to propel us.
