Here are some I have heard of here.

-Leave business cards/bookmarks in books at the library/store
-Print ron paul in red ink or with a stamp on cash
-Put in email signature

Hear are some of my suggestions

-Add vote for ron paul 2008 to the end of ebay listing title(or any other public listing)
-Put small stickers in unusual place like on a kids cereal box at the store so they ask their parents who Ron Paul is.
-Leave a pamphlet wedged in the cushions of the "husband" chairs at a clothing store.(or anywhere where people wait a long time)

Post any other very small things you can do. Just don't go overboard with these techniques, be kind.:)

If you are going to write on the bill, write the following:

KEEP YOUR MONEY!
www.RONPAUL2008.com

Make sure you capitalize RON PAUL so the L is not mistaken for a 1.

As for the legality of printing on money:
It's legal so long as it does not render the bill unfit for circulation. More here.

Federal law prohibits marking bills with the intent of rendering them unfit for circulation, and the Secret Service charged with enforcement. Neither the agent investigating Where's George nor Secret Service headquarters representatives returned calls seeking comment.

"If you're just writing somebody's name on the bill -- like a phone number or somebody's name -- the bill's still spendable, and it's still fit to be re-issued," Eskin said. "...It is defaced, but that does not violate the law. That's the key thing about that section of the law."

A spokesman for the Bureau of Printing and Engraving previously said currency defacement is a gray area of the law, and said Where's George "borders on the concept of defacement." But he said the Secret Service is flexible in allowing for light marking of bills without the intent to render them useless.

Officials at the Federal Reserve told Eskin bills have to be worn out, ripped, torn, or taped together to be pulled from circulation.

My main concern in respect to this: so long as you aren't putting numbers--like a few extra zeros on a $5 bill, which would render the bill unfit for continued circulation--you are in the clear. Just make sure the 2008 in web address is nowhere near the number indicating the bill's denomination on all the corners.

Thanks for the tip! I'll mark some of my lower denomination bills before I spend them. Those probably get a lot of traffic.

Maybe instead of writing KEEP YOUR MONEY!, write:

MAKE THIS WORTH SOMETHING!

Not many people know about his views on the gold standard and I think people should know about it. It's one of Paul's "fun" stances in my opinion.

More info--the actual federal law...

Title 18 U.S.C. 333:

Whoever mutilates, cuts, defaces, disfigures, or perforates, or unites or cements together, or does any other thing to any bank bill, draft, note, or other evidence of debt issued by any national banking association, or Federal Reserve bank, or the Federal Reserve System, with intent to render such bank bill, draft, note, or other evidence of debt unfit to be reissued, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than six months, or both.

Bolded the important part. Still looking for what would make it unfit for circulation.

EDIT: Underlined "evidence of debt." The law even admits it's debt-money! :D

Both work...

KEEP YOU MONEY! for Dr Paul's anti-income tax stance

Although STOP INFLATION! would be better than MAKE ME WORTH SOMETHING! for Dr Paul's stance against the Federal Reserve.

Or, use all three!

Wait, even better:

LEGALIZE INDUSTRIAL HEMP!

I'm sure that would go over well with the general public.
