OK, it looks like we'll probably have the insurance money in the next day or so. Should we start trying to push general contributions for the event itself. Is there a reasonably concise summation on some existing thread of what we are trying to do so I can get others as fired up as I feel? I'll throw one together my self if I have to, I just don't want to duplicate effort that has already been expended.

Let's start that at the beginning of the week. I'll have more time to coordinate and hopefully will have more news on speakers.

I'm sure we can pull that off.

We don't want mics recording off the speakers. We should have a mic on the podium itself that is used for making the recording for the video. So many other RP videos out there suffer from the fact that the mic was not on the podium. Let's make this a professional one.

Good. As I said, a brief summary of the event that can get blogged and posted on LJ, FaceBook, MySpace, etc, would be a big help. Plus we need some place to direct people. Doesn't have to be much right away, but something that will be updated as we progress.

BTW this is going to be an amazing event. I can't wait.

Wow...this idea just got put forth a couple days ago and I feel like I'm behind. That's what I deserve for taking a little time off from following things obsessively.

I am a student in video and audio for TV production.

I own a Panasonic HVX200, tripod, laptop, mini digital audio mixer (2 mics with phantom power, plus another 6 balanced inputs) - its also an audio interface that will work for recording up to 8 channels of audio at 24-bit quality.

Unfortunately as a student I'm scared I'd screw up! I know how to use it all, just am scared of messing up during the shoot and losing track. I guess thats why we need two cameras at least (prefer 3, get crowd shots without having to pan the main cameras).

Other problem is I'd have to come from all the way over in Denver! But its worth it!

Anyway, I will be getting paid after the first (and need to pay rent on the first) so I will contribute then (it really is that tight sorry). Hope to help out in some way, whatever capacity i can.

Cool Cody, I'm going to be hiring (hopefully) my Videographer friend to bring his stuff to the rally and we'll get some good quality footage. I also have quite a few ideas for photo ops and images. I should have more details soon and if you are game I could have him contact you and see what we can work out.

I see you reached your goal of 1k really fast there, congrats! If you guys need more money to get it moving on something specific, let us know. I know there are a lot more people willing to give to help out for things like this, either in time or cash donations.
