Liberty Rally in Phillie on 10 November - we need $$$

I don't think people realize the potential of this event. Anyway, the topic should be sticky'd or continually bumped.

The potential is that we can fill the park (5000 people) and flood the streets with even MORE people! This can be absolutely HUGE with tons of media attention not only in Philly but in PA and hopefully, with the right speakers - national.

We have three donations totaling $70
Keep it going guys!!! We ARE going to make this the biggest event of the year!

Donated.

Does anyone here know that the 10th of November is the official birthday of the United States Marine Corps? In 1925 the first formal USMC birthday ball was held. Guess where it was held. Philadelphia!

" The first "formal" Birthday Ball took place on Philadelphia in 1925. First class Marine Corps style, all the way! Guests included the Commandant, the Secretary of War (in 1925 the term "politically correct" didn't exist; it was Secretary of War, not Secretary of Defense), and a host of statesmen and elected officials. Prior to the Ball, Gen. Lejeune unveiled a memorial plaque at Tun Tavern. Then the entourage headed for the Benjamin Franklin Hotel and an evening of festivities and frolicking."

If Ron Paul is in Philly that day and speaking publicly, it would be great if he was aware of this. Marines are loyal supporters of those who back our traditions, so a "Happy Birthday Marines!" from him would likely seal the deal with any Marines who are watching. He'll just have to do it early in the day, because later in the evening there won't be a sober Marine in the United States. Except Sgt Auxier, he's my old platoon's token Mormon. He makes sure we get home safely.

will forego bi-weekly donation to campaign..

so i can donate $50 saturday. see you all there!

Let's Do This!!!

OK, I'm working but stopped at a Kinko's to send this.

Please donate guys and gals! For them to accept the permit application we need a copy of our event insurance policy. I am calling around and getting quotes in the $900 -$1,000 range for an event like this.

They already had an event scheduled for Sunday the 11th that took up half the area we needed. We need the whole lawn for 5,000 so it is Saturday November 10. Overflow of thousands can surround the lawn as it only has a low fence around it.

We don't want to lose this date so we need the insurance ASAP. Please donate and help. If we have any overflow donated, it will go to the stage/sound set-up for which we will set up a donation webpage as that will be about $10k+ (working with BizmanUSA who did the Pittsburgh rally on that) and we have time to get that done. Once the Meetup fundraising campaign competition ends Agusut 31 we will hit up all the Meetups to help with those monies over sept. and Oct., but we need donations immediatley for the insurance.

This will be an awesome and HUGE event with GREAT exposure and will be a LOT of fun.

Please help out. Thanks!

Also, for those reading about this for the first time - it is a Liberty Rally at Indedendence Mall in Philladelphia, Saturday Novermber 10th at 1pm - 4pm. There is another long thread on this. The campaign has indicated Ron Paul will show for this.

There are 40 million people within 200 milles of Philly (which is the 4th largest TV market nationwide), Dr. Paul will be speaking in front of the Liberty Bell and Independence Hall were the Founders signed the Constitution and the U.S. Mint, which holds our $100 billion in gold reserves will be right behind him. Already have an RP volunteer to do a nice webpage to market the event, and we will be on (hopefully RP himself that day) the widely listened to Michael Smirconish Philly radio show the day before to market the rally.

There are 70,000 college students within 4 miles of this rally and they will be marketed. We expect Meetup members from all over the country to show.

As Ron says in his letters to us - please make your most generous donation (see post that started thread to donate).

Thanks! Sematary did a great job with some donations for Ozzfest, but the Philly rally will be HUGE with great television exposure, so let's make it happen. No other campaign will be able to touch a grassroots rally like this, and that point alone should garner national exposure for the powerful draw of RP's message.

Might I suggest you send an email to Lew Rockwell and ask him to promote this on his blog? His readership is huge.

Sent to Lew Rockwell:

Dear Mr. Rockwell

There is a group of supporters who are currently setting up a rally in Philadelphia on November 10, 2007. We intend to try and get Ron Paul as the key speaker but I also wanted to invite you to speak, if you could.
Also, we are working our tails off to get the donations we need to pay for insurance, electricians, stage setup, etc...
We would like to ask if you could do a write-up of the event on your blog and help us in that way to raise the funds for the event.
The event will be held at the Liberty Bell with the grounds being able to hold about 5000 people. We are also hoping to fill the streets around the park with even more people. Your assistance would go a long way towards making this a HUGE success for us.
Can you please let me know if any of this is possible on your end?
The thread on Ron Paul forums about the event is here: http://ronpaulforums.com/showthread.php?t=13744
Donations are already coming in for the initial phase of paying for event insurance.

Thankyou so much for your time..

Yours in freedom and liberty

Robert Larkin
