Liberty Forest Future

Perhaps it's a change of mindset more than a rearrangement of subforms then?

How many people land on the start/home page and use it? Especially when first coming here. What do they see? Cops shot another family dog? (nothing wrong with that topic)

Discussion is what I'm looking for. Examples.

Think, you are a newbie to politics, government topics, you're a brick-layer, why come here?

I would like to see the "General Politics" in the future be used for just that and put the bad policing stories into a "Police state" sub. There's so many abuse stories happening that it clutters up GP. I have another move in mind regarding the continual spreading of negativity (beyond making one's initial point or two to where it becomes trolling) about one strategy or another but I'll hold off on that til after the election season.

I'm not sure where all "libertyforest.com" is posted or how it's used (it redirects for ronpaulforums.com currently), but, could it point to a subforum that is used for this and advertised as such without adversely affecting it's current purpose?

In a forest, there are maples, oaks, walnut, hickory and their cousin pecan, and various varieties of each.

edit: (and your point (merlot)).

Some of us are Ron's offspring, if you will. Some are the remnant that was waiting for a prominent figure to speak out on our behalf (we are not alone).

Are we going to have children of our own, or call out to other of the remnant?

Yes. I am just not sure how forum reorganization is what does that.

The internet is one place to do it.
I know that everyone is working hard to get the word out, talking to friends, neighbors, family members.
But there are those that can be reached that have no neighbor like you.

I'm not sure it is either.

The computer screen is a strange and somewhat limiting organ. It's 2 dimentional and you can't really grab it around the throat (I've really wanted to a few times).

Getting into the mindset of a new person to this whole politics thing is what I'm trying to start with.

Would you send a fragile "I just realized that my government is lying to me" here? really?

Once they become mad, and have read some things that begin to give them a clue as to what government is, then yes, I would send them here. But when fragile and in that state of mind, no. They would get devoured.

RonPaulForums.com :D

A place where hardcore libertarians, agorists, anarchists, minarchists, etc.. take up real swords and battle for mankind (and themselves)

This forum is a community of its users whose common binding is as specified in our Mission Statement- the forum layout is determined by what the free market of ideas here will support. As Brian4Liberty indicated, many good-idea subforums just never take traction and get little traffic, so it's not an easy issues to contend with. The site staff works to balance the ebb and flow of the community and political happens to find the best fit solution for the forum.

There are some good ideas in here, thank you. I understand the point of the original three. IMO, the best value of discussions like these come when there is a fine-tuned written product that comes out of all the discussion. A dedicated author (or team) could leverage the discussion to create a written work. More ideas never perused... :)

Of the three listed, I would think that the "What kind of new house" is effectively what the "Political Philosophy" forum is about... it's just not quite packaged that way- but it would be similar discussion. The other two we have generally combined as one- but good food for thought on the split. In some ways the just removed "Marketing Strategy, Influence & Persuasion" type forum was a part of that, but geared for the campaign. As always- the key is finding the right formula.

As sailingaway noted- there are some changing coming, for sure. Some have already been done recently, mostly moving out now overkill 2012 forums.

Again- thank you for the input. This forum is really about the community of posters- the site staff just needs to serve them as best possible.
