Liberty candidates for Senate 2012 - the definitive list

We need a similar list but with state liberty candidates. Many on this forum have requested help in their own efforts.

Our list seems like it needs updating!

The Senate Conservatives Fund has a list that is a little clearer and more updated. They are already making endorsements, so we need to give input if we have any. Rand Paul and Mike Lee were both endorsed by SCF last time around.

PA Senate Candidate Marc Scaringi should be on the list. scaringiforsenate2012.com

I'm running for Senate in Florida working on the site right now, here is a video about my positions:

PS: Need help

Dan Stojadinovic

Out of the people who are currently running I think these are some good candidates so far. I could be missing some, but i'm researching now.

Here are my picks on who I like. Let's try to update the OP list like http://senateconservatives.com/site/races has it (lets only include people who are currently running) but we can put our picks in case they are different?

Here's a tentative start?

Jeff Flake - Arizona
Richard Mourdock - Indiana
Ted Cruz - Texas
Jamie Radtke - Virginia
Scotty Boman (Clark Durant as backup) - Michigan
Sarah Steelman - Missouri
James Durkan - Tennessee
Barry Hinckley - Rhode Island
Mark Nuemann - Wisconsin
Josh Mandel - Ohio
Marc Scaringi (Sam Roher as backup?) - Pennsylvania
Dan Stojadinovic (Connie Mack as backup?) - Florida (note that I don't see Dan listed on wikipedia or that conservatives for senate site)
Don Stenberg - Nebraska (he seems somewhat OK, don't know much about him but DeMint and Mike Lee have endorsed)
Andrew Dodge (Scott D'Amboise as backup) - Maine (both seem better than Snowe)
Dan Bongino - Maryland

Feel free to add or change or whatever.

Note that I'm not saying any of these people are perfect, just that they are good in that they would likely improve the US senate by a decent amount if elected.

I think you are confusing James Durkan for James "Jimmy" Duncan in Tennessee.

I will say that while some prefer Glenn Addison from TX, he does not have a prayer and Cruz is great but also electable.

K thanks. I fixed that and added some more also.

Where do you get zroscoe Bartlett from. My name is Peter James I was endorsed by Ron Paul in 2008 and managed to win the primary with virtuall no money in a 4 way race by 14% points of the party guy. I am currently running against bartlett for his 6th disitrict seat.

Did you bother to look at his voting reocrd. he recently voted for NDAA, b=voted for the Partiot Act and 5 debt cieling increase. he gets most of his money from the defense industry. What are you smoking.

There are 8 Republicans in hte primary 7, including Bartlett have publicly supported eVerify. I am the only candidate to oppose it. I am running on a End the Fed platform in a new more liberal district. With the other 7 candidates spliting the neocon vote, I have an easy win.

This district is now slightly democratic but with 22% independents a very good chance for a Ron Paul liberty candidate to take the seat.

Roscoe really?

You may want to consider adding Ken Vaughn, who's running for the Republican nomination for 11th district House seat in Virginia. He takes a much stronger constructionist approach to interpreting the Constitution than most other VA candidates I've seen. He has a long road ahead of him as his opponent already has a number of endorsements from prominent establishment Republicans.

Can't link to his campaign site since I'm a newbie here. Hi everybody! :)

Please consider adding Bob Marshall to the list for Virginia. While Delegate Marshall is a Social Conservative, he is truly an Economic Libertarian, being the among the reasons that Virginia's lawsuit against Obamacare won. Del. Marshall sponsored and managed to get passed in both houses and signed by our Governor the Virginia Healthcare Freedom Act.

Economic libertarians wouldn't use state resources to promote and establish a state religion as he does per his issues page.

Having looked at Sam Roher vs. Marc Scaringi I think Roher is the choice.

Scaringi is better, but Roher is great. The main difference is that Roher has a great chance to win, while Scaringi has none. If we support Scaringi it will just be helping Roher's establishment rival.

I believe the same holds true for Texas. Addison is better than Cruz, but Cruz is very good and much better than Dewhurst. Addison has no chance while Cruz is the only one who can defeat Dewhurst.

I've been so focused on the Prez race I was slipping a bit on the local Congressional race. Does anyone have a run down on the contenders for Sen. Hatch's seat in this Thursdays primary election? I'd love if there were a liberty candidate I could help put in place of Hatch

I think the Governor's races shouldn't be overlooked

Here are my liberty picks for the 2012 Gov Races:

North Carolina: BJ Lawson
North Dakota: Paul Sorum (has endorsed Ron Paul
Missouri: Brian Nieves
Montana: Bob Fanning- has endorsed RP and his running mate is Chuck Baldwin, who was endorsed by RP for President in 08
Delaware: Jim Rash
New Hampshire: Ovide Lamontagne
Utah: Ken Ivory
Washington: Sharahm Hadian
WV: Kevin Patrick
Vermont: Scott Berkey
Indiana: Mike Delph?

I think Fanning dropped out, as his site has disappeared. Also Baldwin left him a few weeks ago.
