Libertarians For Sanders?

Ron Paul has called for "allies" like South Korea and Japan to pay for their own defense. So has Rand Paul. That's what Trump has also said.

Trump has specifically stated that countries like Germany, Japan, and Saudi Arabia would have to pay the US for military protection, far different then pulling out all together.

What do you think foreign aid is? Rand just tried to stop foreign aid to Pakistan- we just sold them subsidies f16s.
That's not the issue here. We're not talking about subsidized weapons sales or straight up transfers of cash.

We're talking about American soldiers stationed in South Korea and Japan. Those military resources expended by the United States in essence subsidize the defense of South Korea and Japan.

Makes sense. America's allies should pay their fare share of their defense.

The point is we could totally end the whole problem by bringing those troops home and letting these countries defend/fight for themselves. We won't have to worry about paying for all these expenses if we simply ended them. That is a true non-interventionist foreign policy.

While the AUMF did not mention Afghanistan specifically, Ron Paul supported going into Afghanistan to fight Al-Qaeda and the Taliban.

Paul voted FOR US forces going in Afghanistan in 2001 to hunt down Bin Laden (H.J. RES 64), but AGAINST nation building in Afghanistan (H.R. 3994, May 2002) He had originally introduced the Air Piracy and Reprisal Act of 2001 and the September 11 Marque and Reprisal Act of 2001.

No one said he supported nation building. What's your point? He voted to invade Afghanistan.

Which would be...pay your fair share of your defense or we won't be your ally anymore. We're sick of paying for what you should be paying for yourself.

You fail to see the point. We don't HAVE to pay for their defense at all, it is not in our interests.

Where in my post did I say we should be paying for their defense? In fact, I said the complete opposite. I said our "allies" should be paying their fair share for their defense or they shouldn't be our allies.

What do you think allegiance is free? Do you think they use our money because its backed by gold?

Yes but you are saying that is also what Trump believes and comparing it to Ron Paul's foreign policy, which are not the same..
