Libertarian Party of Kentucky condemned Paul Tuesday

It's a few political outcasts, who are just pissed Paul wouldn't run the type of campaign they envisioned, just sending out press releases to a race-baiting media.

No one gives a shit about the libertarian party in Kentucky, except the liberal media now that Rand Paul is running.

In Kentucky:

Name on race they were ever an issue in? Name more than 10 races (if that) they've even had a candidate in?

They couldn't even get a candidate on the ballot for senate if they wanted to! Not to mention raise any money to fund a campaign!

Grow up BOYS!

"Rand Paul's statements regarding all forms of discrimination are not consistent with, nor do they reflect the views of, the Libertarian Party of Kentucky," said K. Joshua Koch, vice chair of the state party, in a news release.

Well...since he's not a libertarian....who the hell cares?

of all the un-libertarian views that he holds, they decide to call him out on that one? Doesn't make much sense.

Wouldn't they need at least hundreds of thousands of dollars to get their name on the ballot, and TV and radio commercials for name recognition?

How can they feel "betrayed," anyway? Rand Paul admitted he wasn't a libertarian.

The Libertarian Party is insanely obsessed with pot. I strongly agree with ending the War on Drugs, but it's almost against their litmus test not to glorify and celebrate smoking harmful or mind-altering substances. As Steven Greenhut writes:

These days, the left-libertarians who have the loudest voice in our political movement can't seem to make a simple distinction: just because a behavior should be legal doesn't mean it's good. While I would never use the government to promote morality or crack down on vice, as many conservatives would do, I have no interest in erasing the line between uplifting, civilization-building behavior and depravity.

Yet so many libertarians act as if every expression of human freedom, no matter how stupid or perverted, is worth celebrating. This is infantile. I recall former Reason magazine editor Virginia Postrel's book, The Future and Its Enemies, in which she broke down political debates between those people who are "dynamists" and those who are "stasists." Dynamists believe in dynamic change. Stasists try to use government to preserve the status quo. It wasn't a bad read, and I even praised it in a review, but it was clear that Postrel succinctly captured the left-libertarian credo: Tradition is bad, change is good. All change is good, for that matter. The past is always repressive, the present is OK and the future will set us free.

umm it's a great social group. you meet with people that believe in what you believe and pretend to be a real political party. it's fun

Well, at least that is a reason for that political party's continued existence. Certainly they are not still around because they're a competent, viable third party or anything.

Pretty much. They're just using Rand Paul's name and a media looking to reprint anything negative about Rand Paul as a way to get press attention.

It's hard for them to be. The only reason the UK has a viable third party [lib dems] is because a bunch of minor parties joined forces. That's impossible for the LP to replicate because they would no longer be "the party of principle" and it wouldn't be as effective anyway. For example, we all know the green party are just a bunch of commies masquerading around as environmentalists. They just don't mesh well with libertarianism. Free market environmentalism, sure, but that's not in the mainstream unfortunately.
