Libertarian National Convention

I'm for Gay Marriage, but seriously who gives a shit. The Dems or their activist judges will fix it eventually anyway.

I want to hear about getting rid for the IRS.

I'm really sick of hearing you talk...so maybe you shouldn't exercise your right to free speech. He has acted in favor of gay rights...wait, scratch that... Constitutional, equal rights for EVERYONE. Again, you don't have to like him, but don't blatantly lie about his position on issues and be stubborn about it. It's very unbecoming.

How is sponsoring legislation that forces the Federal government not to recognize gay marriage "equal"? He is a social conservative. That's fine. Don't try to spin it as libertarian.

illegal immigration

Please make a distinction between legal immigration and illegal immigration. You're sounding like La Raza.

Illegal immigration is people who just showed up....

Overstayed their Visa's or however they got here.

We need to welcome legal immigrants but not illegal ones.

I would think gay people would give a shit.

I want to hear about getting rid of the IRS as well.

But NOT by replacing it with the very un-libertarian "fair tax" (like that would happen anyway, we'd end up with both).

The support you talk about must come from the few people that vote against McCain...not the majority that keeps re-electing McAmnesty

Again, you have zero idea what you're talking about. Have you been to Arizona? 47% of legal Mexican-Americans voted for the bill outlawing business hiring illegal immigrants. That percentage was much higher in the rest of the population.

Ummm...do you remember who like 40% of the anti-war Republicans in NH voted for? That's right, McCain, the biggest war hawk. I've had several people "tell" me that McCain is against the war. People are sheep and do not know what they're talking about.

When any proposition has been brought to a vote to halt illegal immigration in the Southwestern states, it has passed. When people know what they're voting for, they vote to control illegal immigration.

Please argue about something that you actually have a clue about.

I don't even know what Ron Paul's position is on gay marriage and I've been supporting him for months.

That's how much that issue matters.

justice

I'm not either. Does that matter? Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.

I support state's rights anyway and sovereignty. If people want to ban oral sex at the state level, I support their right to do that. That goes for gay marriage too. I am personally for gay marriage but I have no problem with people determining their own laws.

All of this is better done at the state level.

You're right. The issue that "matters" most is the Federal Reserve and the devaluation of the dollar. Unfortunately Bob Barr and his cronies don't care about that.

Doesn't the LP have a platform? I think Barr really needs a woman VP running with him. I think Ruwart should get the spot. She probably declined earlier because she was running for president.

When I reviewed the LP in past months I never understood their desire for open boarders, is that still true? We need to secure our borders. We have money problems here, so freeloaders aren't appreciated. That means no illegals.

I, as a lifelong Republican voted for Ron Paul in our state primary. I'd vote for Bob Barr in the General, but I sincerely hope those picking the VP don't pick some showboat like Root. For the short time I've seen Ruwart, I think she'd be a better choice.

CSPAN just decided to cut the live feed... anyone know anywhere online to watch? Thx

I want to see a study where the Ron Paul supporters will be voting this year. It'll split to Obama, Baldwin and Barr.

I know some who are supporting McCain. (not I, for the record)

I'm sure there will be others supporting Nader again.

o well

I agree, which is why I am opposed to Bob Barr's sponsorship of legislation that forced the Federal government to take the "anti-gay" position.

o well He's changed positions for the better. At least he doesn't support amnesty for illegal aliens.

Forget the VP, s/he'll be irrelevant, really. It's Barr who's going to get all the media coverage and have all the influence. Third party VPs get almost no coverage. I wish Ruwart would take the spot to unite the party, but she's passed the buck to Kubby. I like him, but he could hurt the party because of his strong record on marijuana. I'm all for its legalization, but Republicans who don't want to support McCain may hesitate supporting Barr because of him.

Barr has CHANGED...honestly changed. You can hear it when he talks...he's seen the light. Not unlike most of you, I'm sure some of you never knew better before hearing Ron speak. You didn't know what real free trade was, etc etc. I trust Barr. I think he's a good man and a good vehicle for the message...he's learned from his mistakes.

Lets hope so!
