Libertarian National Convention

um no...I'm voting for Chuck Baldwin. I just think it's stupid for the Libertarian Party to run a candidate just because he can hurt McCain rather than someone who can communicate libertarian ideals.

Ah, another person that hasn't done anything. So, why do you like voting for people that don't get things done, don't make progress, talk about hating the 2 party system and never do anything about it? They never run for office, they never get anything done, all they do is TALK. TALK TALK TALK. Lead by DOING.

Again, you can say and write all you want, but I prefer someone who has actually done something.

those aren't special interest like, the military-industrial-complex. that's more like, "you hate government, we do to!" cause small business = regulations, poker players = prohibition.

understood...i guess especially since helping the small business by getting rid of regulations would in turn get the economy back into the grasp of the people more...thanks for the insight ;)

By your own argument, voting for Baldwin (hell, voting for anyone other than McCain) will also have helped big government Obama win.

He talks about taking the troops from Iraq and putting them on the border. He also talks about ending birthright citizenship. He also talks about no amnesty. Please don't act as if he is for open borders, he most certainly is not.

I'm sure you didn't mean that comment for ME, since I'm agreeing with you.

Dude, there are more important issues than amnesty...like the economy.

I've heard a lot of Ron Paul speeches at freedom rallies and I can't recall RP talking about immigration...immigration is reserved to his website, book and if he's asked the question at debates...otherwise he only talks about the IMPORTANT issues.

Except of course for the TV ads... lots of TV ads on Anti-Immigration (gotta keep those foreign student out you know) and millions wasted airing them.

So sort of a discrepancy there between the candidate and his campaign... but of course it was necessary to win all those votes in Iowa....not!

The only way we will get 3 parties would be if the Ron Paul Republicans are able to regain control of the Republican party. Then some power grabber will figure out a way to get the laws changed to facilitate a 3rd party.

The fight for liberty is never ending.

the sad thing is that Ruwart rejected the offer when Barr's people went over and asked her if she wanted to be vp. lol Root went in and swooped at the opportunity.

Barr takes his delegates - he wins

Root gets to be vp

win/win for both

Ruwart and the extremists lose

now the party won't be united. I fear the purist backlash

Only time will tell. There are a lot of Dems fed up with the whole two-party system...By November, voting third party might even be COOL.

What I get from listening to Root is that he's really fired up about getting the gov't out of people's lives, and that he wants to do whatever he can to realistically achieve those goals. I don't think his views are as developed or principled as say Ruwart's are, he's less about the theory and more about results.

And God knows we need RESULTS.

Forget about it being Kewl, how about necessary to break the back of the 2-party system. It will be a vote for the American people!!

Why is Ruwart an "extremist"?

Other than her pro-amnesty position, which cancels her out from consideration of course. But what other extreme positions does she have?
