note the promotion materials:
Students in the Young American for Liberty group have been using social media and passing out cards on campus to promote the event.

The last card this writer was handed posed the question "Who is Ron Paul?" and then answered it with this description: "Ron Paul has never voted to raise taxes, never voted for a unbalanced budget, votes against regulation of the Internet, votes against the welfare state, voted against the Iraq War, votes to end the war on drugs, votes to protect civil liberties and maintains a non-interventionist foreign policy."

Read this. If we get this sort of coverage across the board....

Damnit. I'm signed up and it says I can add a comment, but how??? Nothing clicks.

at least it's better than the coverage that we got in the paper here at FSU. They didn't bother to contact us to get information before writing a piece on Dr. Paul coming here. One part of the article mentions his book and it says that the book's topics include "abortion and Zionism" Yes, the book mentions those, but that's hardly the main topic of discussion in the book. Plus, half the facts about the event itself were wrong including having to have a valid FSU ID. I'm thinking conspiracy here

It was great. I just got home. That was my first time to see Ron Paul and I got to see Casey Jones and a few others from the forum too.

Were you able to get a signed book? Or do you have to see him again somewhere to get that?

No I did not make it to Barnes and Nobles, they did not have any at the event, and they were all sold out at B&N anyway. Plus weather was horrible. My windshield was cracked by golf ball size hail on the way up there. Ron Paul had to leave immediately after speaking because of weather issues so I did not really get to get close anyway. Oh, well. Still a great experience.

How many people showed up vs how many were expected? I heard the weather was pretty bad.

I get to see Ron Paul tomorrow, very excited.

I still haven't gotten my book from those bastards at Amazon. Looks like you'll be going to the book signing without me. They're going to get one hell of a pissed off letter once I get my book

I don't know if you have auto yards (wreckers ) in your town but my car had a bust windshield and when I took it to my usual place the guy said he didn't want to charge me what they charge and told me to go to where the auto wrecker yards are, because there are a lot of shops there that strip windshields off cars before they are wrecked and they are same model and year as yours, and they install them, cheap. Mine was about $100, and I'm in L.A., so Mississippi has to be cheaper.

Just a thought.

Thanks. My premium on my insurance is too high to cover just a windshield replacement so I will be paying out of pocket on this one. Oh well. At least I will have the memory of seeing Dr. Paul.

Holy smokes what a night! Great that I happened to be in the area and got to see RP live for first time after donating and following since early 2008. Got to meet some great guys like Gage, The Legend, Casey Jones, etc. (who was a BIG help BTW thanks!).

Weather was NUTZ before and after ... dodging tornadoes, hail, huge rain, wind, etc. VERY slow moving storm systems (weird) like 15 MPH. Had to fight it to the event and after going east into AL. Double whammy.

Thought turnout was strong for a couple reasons ... weather nasty (obviously). Nothing against Mississippi State (beautiful campus) but, being a southern boy I can tell you that you should go to "Starkvegas" FOR something ...ain't much around that area of the state. Full house of about 1,000. Great job by the MSU YAL kids! I know couple of our RPF guys were handing out gazillions of cool Money Bomb flyers too! Good times despite the trials there.:)

Great to hear about the turnout! The media couldn't comment on it because they were told there was a tornado warning and camped out at the student union, which I guess was closer to their car, and missed the event. I don't think they were libertarians.
