Libertarian candidate Bedonie: GOP’s Ronchetti ‘cannot win with me in the way’

On Sunday night, a video began circulating showing a Republican-turned-Libertarian gubernatorial candidate Karen Bedonie saying her Republican rival Mark Ronchetti “cannot win” with her in the race. Both are running to unseat Democrat first-term Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham.

In the video shared on Twitter, Bedonie says, “The only comfort I find in this race is that man (Mark Ronchetti) cannot win with me in the way. That man cannot win this race. He will never be governor as long as I am alive and well and in this race.

Big schools, big medicine, stimulus checks, saying, my opponent raised taxes so I won't have any trouble paying for this?

Just another RINO.

Just another lame attempt to disparage libertarians by painting them as standing in the way of making political progress.

Typical Swordy. Ignore, move on.

Wait a second. You're saying the OP was an attempt to disparage Libertarians?

I saw it as practically a campaign ad in favor of the Libertarian.

I can't see how anyone other than an establishment Republican hack would have a problem with it.

Given Swordy's history, yes.

Your take is much closer to the truth, of course.

But then, electoral politics will never result in liberty anyway, so the whole thing is largely moot anyway.

Here's to hoping we see more similar disparagement of libertarians so that even more people get on the bandwagon of seeing a vote for the LP as a way to give the GOP the middle finger.

Thanks Swordy! Keep spreading the word!

Since no small number of Democrat voters are just giving the GOP the middle finger for the war on drugs, numerous wars, the PATRIOT Act and other things, maybe now that voting for this current crop of clowns is getting harder to stomach they'll jump on the same bandwagon.

He's helping with that, too, by emphasizing the importance of bandwagoneering.

Here’s the video from Bedonie:

She says she is working with Democrats, so this is just as likely to take votes from the incumbent Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham (D). It’s probably a wash as far as effecting the other candidates. It sounds like she is good on most of the issues, but comes across a bit scattered. Lame GOP candidate, standard Democrat candidate, and a libertarian who will not win. Good luck New Mexico.

Lame GOP candidate is better than the Dem, especially at this time.
And she is saying in her own words that she is staying in to make sure the Dem wins, she's working with Demoncrats alright.

Remember when the LP bragged about replacing Bevin with Beshear in KY just in time for the Plandemic?
It wouldn't have done to have the most libertarian leaning Governor in America in office to show the way.

She could be wrong, for a few reasons.
One, Grisham is unpopular.
Two, Ronchetti is high profile, people are familiar with him on tv as a weatherman.
Three, Bedonie is much less a Libertarian vote than she is a pure Indian* vote. All her ability to affect the outcome is about her Navajo pull. Because Indians* in New Mexico tend to favor Democrats more than Republicans, she is going to pull off Grisham more than Ronchetti. Very few of her voters care that she is Libertarian. Libertarians are an insignificant voter base. Natives are significant in New Mexico.

* If you object to my use of the identifier "Indian(s)" to describe "Native American(s)", feel free to write your Congressman** to make it illegal for me to do so. Until then, I will continue to use the term I grew up with, and will refuse to alter the language of my upbringing. If that offends you, it's okay with me.

** If you object to my use of the indetifier "Congressman" to describe elected officials in Congress, see "*" above for reference.

Nobody in the race generates much enthusiasm. It's up to New Mexico. Would the GOP candidate be marginally better? Probably.

She also says she is going to prevent "that woman" from winning re-election. She seems a bit scatterbrained, TBH.

I still believe it is a wash, and would lean for her helping the Democrat. Guess we'll find out.

Last I checked, everyone was happy with "Indian" when it comes before the word "Casino".

Her attitude and that of all the other LP Jr. Demoncrats is more important than the accuracy of her claims.
