Just got this in the e-mail about 40 seconds ago....

Friends,

We are filing our third quarter financial report with the Federal Election Commission (FEC) today, and I can’t thank you enough for helping our campaign meet our financial goals.

To date we’ve raised $1,245,992 and have $1,117,655 cash on hand. We raised $642,857 in the third quarter.

Our positive message focusing on the needs of our Commonwealth’s economy and the need for returning fiscal responsibility to Washington is resonating with Kentucky voters. Nearly 2,200 Kentuckians have invested in our effort so far.

Just the Facts
- 98% of contributions from individuals
- 92% of contributions from Kentucky
- 68% of contributions this quarter for $200 or less, with 95% of those from Kentuckians
- Nearly 2,200 Kentucky contributors
- Contributions from 116 of 120 Kentucky counties

My heartfelt appreciation goes out to you and the thousands of others who have invested their time, talents and financial contributions in our campaign.

We continue to need your assistance and input as we seek to keep this important U.S. Senate seat in conservative hands. Our work is only just beginning. If you haven’t already, please take time to volunteer or make a financial contribution today.

With your help we will win. Again, Nancy and I are grateful for your encouragement and support.

Sincerely,

Not bad. Doesn't beat $1 million though.

The spin will be that Grayson still has more cash on hand. Paul's FEC report shows $900,000-something cash on hand.

Let's get the December 16th money bomb site up please. I'd do it myself if I knew how.

"- 92% of contributions from Kentucky"

This is what theyre going to push in Rand's face—

What? That Rand has a national donor base to draw from and is thus a better candidate for the general election to compete with the big $$$ that Conway has raised?

We have November 5th before then :-) Patience...

Remind me why it's a good idea to give up over a half-month of promotion for a money bomb that's likely not going to do anything significant? Well, other than prove that divided money bombs aren't a good idea.

No. That half of the people who have donated to Rand cant even vote for him while almost the majority of Trey's can. Also keep in mind that Trey has raised to date more than Rand with 95% coming from one state, while Rand is pulling from the entire country to try to stay even.

Just being devil's advocate—

Yes this guy is going to spin it as outside money trying to influence the kentucky election. This is exactly what he is setting up with that letter.

And thus why grayson seems to be hitting a plateu in fundraising and Rand is not. The polls show that both candidates perform about the same versus their democrat rivals, so who do you want to go with? The one that has the potential to raise a lot more money in the general election or the one that can't.

Tway gets his money from the Republican establishment.
In the general election, Rand would pick up a lot of the Ash Tway's donors, but
Tway would not see much, if any from Paul's base.
You would think that would be a reason for the establishment to back Paul - if they want to win, that is.
Also, does anyone know what the total donors to Rand Paul from KY were?

need further details from the FEC report before drawing any real conclusions from this statement. The "% contributions" could be $, or # contributors.

I agree that Trey's trying to spin in favor of Kentuckians vs. non-Kentuckians.
