If we can raise enough money, I think it would be a very good idea to attempt to bring the blimp up for one final run at the convention in St.Paul. Just throwing this out there.

I'd rather spend 400k for "exotic" dancers to roam the streets with far-too-small "T-shirts" with "Who's Ron Paul?" printed on them.

Or we could just paint that on them.... That's not considered nudity if paints over THEM, right?

Edit: Wimmins are people too...

Id rather spend the 400k on bussing people from all over the country to be delegates

I agree but isn't that faulty logic? Meaning, it is easier to raise money for something big, fun, and symbolic like a blimp than for mundane (while admittedly more important) procedural acts such as delegate organization.

Just like all the experts throw stones at the rEVOLution and say we would have been better off canvassing and phone banking than making signs and chanting. It's of course true that if we would have spent the same amount of hours doing the former as we did the later we would have gotten more votes. But the reality is that we wouldn't have had the same level of enthusiasm if we did. In other words, I'm not sure it was ever an option to have the same level of presence and motivation applied to the less fun things as we spontaneously did for the fun things.

And right now, I think that if we could raise that money (I'm not convinced we could) It would be a highly effective way to rally and unite us behind a cause. And the blimp is the perfect trademark for the rEVOLution and would help persuade folks and delegates that they should get their asses to the GOP convention to represent the Good Dr. So in the end we could end up with a blimp AND more people at the convention.

I vote for this one.

Wasn't the blimp grounded ages ago? And if not, why?

Yes it was grounded after it missed the fundraising deadline. On the website they said they would hold onto the banners in case we ever wanted to put it back into the air for a future function.

I say lets bring it back up, Ill make a poll regarding this post.

I heard they need 5000 volunteers to help run the convention. Shouldnt people plan on that???? I was voted out in the county level by mccain drones in the co mtns, sad but true. More was accomplished in summit and eagle. I know we have a few undercovers as well;)

I would be interested in going, probably just campout or something.. but we should all register to help the convention;) inside/outside from allsides;)

I say the Blimp plus the newspaper delivered to ALL hotel rooms in the area as well as as many other unconventional means to advertise
