I think you are confused about what I said. I was not discussing the questions about what is right or wrong about the situation. I simply was assessing what is fact. When you purchase an automobile and you do not have or retain the MSO, then the automobile is NOT absolutely yours. The entity which has the MSO is the entity that can pass the laws regarding that automobile. If you have the MSO, then they have no jurisdiction over you.

In most cases then not, you only have the Certificate of Title. That is not the Title. The possessor of the Title is the one who issued the Certificate of Title. In most cases that is the state where you reside. You can pass off this artificial ownership to someone else by signing the back of the Certificate of Title.

However, some people own the MSO and do not register their automobile, do not license themselves to drive a "vehicle", and are not bound by the regulations that are imposed on "vehicles".

It's the same thing with "real estate". If you do not possess the land deed, then you do not own the land. You are simply renting it from the government(state) for a fee. With that in mind I would like to quote the first plank of "The Communist Manifesto":
"Abolition of property in land and application of all rents of land to public purposes. "

I have seen that. From the investigating I've done, he is dead on for the most part. That link I gave provides a very interesting exchange with a person in Missouri back in the 80s that was between him and the DMV. It's worth a read.
