Leftists surging on the internet

In 2007, I don't remember such a large amount of leftists in the various internet communities. Right now on Reddit, there is a popular anti Ron Paul post on the front page. Reddit has been like this for some time and I think it's a reaction to the tea party. They call themselves the "hive mind," always agreeing with each other on their leftist/atheist positions.

I remember in 2007, Digg.com was all pro-Paul. Then when he started losing in 2008, it switched to pro-Obama. I just don't think we are going to have this huge internet support like we did in 2007. And we probably need to forget about the liberals and focus on the conservatives / apathetics. The problem is that the liberals on the internet are converting apathetics too.

Agreed. It'll be a more traditional campaign. Don't think Ron Paul will be the "internet candidate" this time around; will probably be Sarah Palin (something like 2 million Facebook fans) or something.

I disagree. I think liberals are easier to covert than leftists. All you have to do is get them to understand a little economics. When you have drug warriors and warmongers, I think most of them are lost causes.

Firstly, many atheists are libertarians that support Paul.

Secondly, Ron will absolutely own the internet, even more this time around. Everybody and their dog can buy a cheap HD camera and post anything they want and share media like never before. The younger Obama voters aren't as excited about him this time around and are growing disillusioned. They are ripe for the picking to bring over to the libertarian side of things.

Independents generally love Ron, and Obama has been tanking in the polls with indies as well.

These are the internet liberals: http://www.reddit.com/r/politics/comments/gy4ps/listen_up_ron_paul_lovers_you_will_never_be_able/

I'm an atheist. I support Ron Paul.

Please stop talking about atheism. Read my post above. It's not actually relevant to what I'm saying. I was just explaining that the "hive mind," which is the majority Reddit community, is liberal, atheist, etc. Sites like Reddit are meant to only promote the majority view (because of up voting and down voting), so it's as if the entire site has one mind and no one disagrees with it.

I just saw that post on Reddit...God those people are mind-numbingly dumb. Plus they are the ones likely to just stay at home and sit in front of the computer and bitch on election day.

Not really. I picture them as "D-only" types, but still voting.

I have spent a lot of time on reddit over the last 6 months or so, and I can tell you that the people there absolutely suck. Not just when it comes to politics either...it's just a really lame group of people nowadays.

But worst of all, they all agree with each other and it's as if their views are written in stone. In other words, if you go to Reddit, this is what you believe. The whole "hive mind" thing is pretty interesting / scary. But they obviously don't realize that. I just wonder how it affects people psychologically. Some people spend hours and hours a day on Reddit. They must rarely see an opposing view that has any validity.

That's the collectivist mindset. Let them have their Groupthink orgy and move on to greener pastures.

Yeah, but it actually converts people to agree with the mindset. Because they make anyone who disagrees feel stupid. It might be hard for us, who are philosophically stable, to see how someone could be captured by a community like Reddit. But I view it as a serious problem. And they hate Ron Paul, which is the point of this thread.
