He’s In! Lee Bright Launches U.S. Senate Campaign Website

Today the anti-establishment, pro-second Amendment, pro-life, pro-civil liberties state senator Lee Bright launched his campaign landing page. Conservatives and liberty activists throughout the state have been waiting for a sign to settle everyone’s mind about whether or not he’s running against Lindsey Graham or not. Well that day is here.

This pisses me off. The end result WILL be more liberty movement infighting and thinning of resources.

Seems likely to split the vote in a way that may help Graham. :(

Let's do some math.

1 - Without Bright: Graham 55%, Mace 30%, Cash 10%, Other/Write-in 5%
2 - With Bright: Graham 45%, Bright 25%, Mace 15%, Cash 10%, Other/Write-in 5%

In result 1, Graham would not be forced into a runoff. In result 2, Graham would be, which is an ideal chance to consolidate the anti-Graham vote, leading to result 3.

3 - Runoff following 2: Graham 45%, Bright 55%

Mace voters will support Bright in a runoff and vice versa. Cash voters will support either Mace or Bright in a runoff. No Mace voter is going to say, "aw, my candidate lost, I guess I'm gonna go with Graham now."

The more anti-Graham candidates, the better.

Pretty sure SC's runoff provision is 50%. That's way better than NC's 40%. More folks in THIS race shouldn't hurt the way it would in NC.

The biggest goal here is to hold Graham under 50% and make sure either Mace or Bright comes in #2

dont be discouraged. i think this dual attack is a winning strategy. nancy mace and/or lee bright may not fit everyone's needs but hopefully they will be able to jointly siphon enough support to force a runoff and each other support the other during the runoff and unite behind one another. Hopefully they can also attack Graham on all fronts too.

Bright entering the race as a sitting State Senator might also add the necessary gravitas to force a televised debate or two.

Yeah, but it was idiot Mace that cut in line. She should have run for his seat. Bright's intentions have been pretty widely known since he supported Ron Paul in 2012.

Mace can't run for Bright's seat. Mace lives in Charleston, whereas Bright is upstate. I honestly think Mace will play the liberty role in the primary, while Bright will pump up his Evangelical attributes.

I don't understand why one candidate wasn't settled on. Surely having two anti-Graham candidates is only going to help Ms. Lindsey.

ok, then she should have moved and then run for his seat.

How amazing to have two good conservative candidates to choose from over a bloated encumbent.

Great to see these kinds of candidates stepping into the ring. All I see is win.

On the issues and his voting record, Graham should be toast.

My only fear is the influence Graham has on the monied interests in SC and the military industrial complex that will play dirty to keep the gravy train going.
