It is impossible to get 24% of the vote when you spend half a million on a Congressional campaign. You would have to have the worst campaign organization and advertisements in electoral history to get that low.

Or a political philosophy that only 1/4 of the population supports.
CNN a couple minutes ago said that 1% of North Carolina votes came in for president.
That isn't remotely possible, especially if you also have the lesser of two evils going your way. His district is 28% GOP, 46% Dem, and the rest are LP or Undeclared, you would have to lose a good chunk of the GOP vote to get 24%.
