Lawson and I are in the same boat.

I hope the loss does not defeat you guys. I hope the loss gives you the tools to work with starting today to build on the next election. See what went wrong where we need to recalibrate and get the ball rollling on What we as Republican's need to do to win the nect time around- get back to our roots of the Party platform and drum that philosophy home with our own party who has been so brainwashed to think that we could win with left leaning beliefs. The time is now to bring the right back into the GOP WE ALL CAN DO THIS BY SUPPORTING OUR pARTY AND DRIVING THE SIMPLE MESSAGE HOME. We lost because we were not on the same page with our Party's original platform. It only took Reagan 4 years to do this and we could easily do this now, because American's want instant gratification and in 4 years when the deficit is still ballooning, the dollar is still weak or weaker we can retake alot of races.

great effort ...

you have the right attitude, learn from your mistakes, and redouble your efforts next time! Just think how many elections lincoln lost prior to the presidency!

BTW, anyway know what BJ's plan will be next time around ??

Don't run a race you can't win first and foremost. Both you and BJ never had a chance.

These districts ARE GERRYMANDERED FOR A REASON!

Yes, Landon - Great job,

BJ remains a candidate, and will be starting up again, relatively soon...

Why Matt? Is winning always everything? And aren't our ideas strong enough?

...

You did great, especially considering your even younger than me hah!

Take care of yourself and keep spreading the word. Let the dems run it into the ground while we infiltrate the republican party!

Wow, you did EXCEPTIONALLY well! I know many people that ran for the experience. Not many win their first time around. Alan Stevo in Chicago knew he could not win, but ran anyway because he needs to learn what it takes to win, and sometimes you can only do that by running to lose. I and others here will be behind you for 2010.

good job !!! better luck next time!!! i hope i will join you in a race of my own by 2010 i hope we both have better results

The Libertarian Party has been running no-win stacked races for decades. Obviously this has not lead to the implementation of libertarian ideas.

Walsh had the right idea running for a local office, but that alone is no guarantee of victory if other factors (incumbancy, gerrymandering) are working against one.

Yes winning is the entire point of running a race in most cases, and apparently our ideas are not strong enough. But the reality is the electorate isnt strong enough for our ideals.

Running a race in which a loss is guaranteed is a foolish waste of time, effort, money, and resources. Oh, and it also lowers morale of the movement. If you are running to educate people, there are more effective ways to do it than to mount an entire campaign.

My duty is to take this country back from the depths of tyranny. I will need muscles.
Swimming downstream won't help you when the current changes, and you don't have the strength to fight it.

Indeed. Adversity builds character needed for the more important battles. Easy come, easy go. I like your tenacity. :)

Landon - impressive showing for having run against a 12 year incumbent. Always remember, even Ron Paul lost his first campaign for Congress.

You're a good example to us all, and of course, we'll be there for you in 2 years :)

Landon,

I think you did amazingly well against a 12 year incumbent. You WILL win next time.

Landon,
Well done - you never gave up and from the sounds of it made some rather good contacts while doing it. I consider the money I sent your way well spent, win or lose. Let me know next time you run, try and keep in contact with all those that donated to your chipins, out of the folks like me that already gave to you you will have at least a start for your next race if you maintain the relationship somewhat.
May I suggest that if you have made a friend of the gentleman that won to ask him for some sort of (paid or unpaid) position assisting him somewhat so you can have that to point to when you run next time?
Bravo. And thanks for running.

Well that IS the idea...
Great job Corey, keep up the good work, I'll try to keep in contact over the next few years and we can both try in '10 and keep each other going.

If Lawson continues campaigning, he will have a really long time to get out his name for the next election.
