Today, a Chesapeake lawmaker plans to introduce a bill that will ban "truck nuts" from your truck or SUV.

The nutty idea is the brainchild of Delegate Lionell Spruill. We're talking about the fake testicles people hang on the backs of their vehicles. Spruill's bill would ban anything on a car or truck that looked like human genitalia.

"Yeah, I definitely think those should be outlawed. I don't approve of that," says one local woman we talked to.

But others think its no big deal.

"Nah, that's not vulgar, that's funny," says one man.

Spruill says these types of dangling do-dads are tacky, vulgar, and downright embarrassing. It still has a long way to go before it ever becomes law.

"It comes to a point where there are certain things you just can't do. And putting testicles on the back of a truck is just too much. So I am trying to stop it," he tells NewsChannel 3 in an interview.

Spruill says the idea for the bill came to him after the daughter of one of the people in his district saw a pair of the testicles hanging from the back of a truck in traffic. That's when Spruill put the bill in action. Although he says he hasn't found anyone to co-sponsor it with him.

While I personally think they're disgusting... just as wrong as useing a Dildo for a hood Ornament. I do feel that if that guy gets them banned.... he'll be seeing them nailed to every vertical surface around his house in short order.:D

And if he's doesn't.... the spurred publicity will triple the amount you see on cars from then on... He should've just kept his mouth shut about them:p

just another example of our representatives wasting money and time!
hell if they can pass a law to ban these things, then they might think about passing a law that you have to neuter your dog before you take him into the public!!!

that's totally disgusting.

While I'm all for freedom of expression and speech, I do think that it should be limited in some cases....I mean, how far are we willing to go? If it suddenly became the "in" thing to have sex out in the open, don't you think there should be some kind of law against that? What about someone who walks up to me and suddenly flashes me (or something similar), should that be protected under "freedom of expression"?

I think that our interpretation of "Freedom of speech" should be VERY liberal...but I do think that there should be some exceptions....just not at the Federal level (State level, yes, but not federal).

As long as they don't ban chrome naked lady silhouette mud flaps, I'm ok. ;)

First they came for the Bart Simpson urinating on a Ford logo window sticker, and I had so much crap on my windows already that I didn't have one anyway. Then they came for the CD hanging from the rearview mirror that blinds everybody on a sunny day, and my rearview mirror had fallen off three years ago. Then they came for the Yosemite Sam BACK OFF! mud flaps, and its hard to mount those on a Yugo anyway. Then they came for the truck testicles, and my GF keeps those in a lockbox anyway.

How do people expect trucks to be able to reproduce without them? :D

I think those guys with the truck ornaments are overcompensating for what they themselves lack... JMHO...

Anyone who spends their time trying to get these things banned really needs to get a whiff of some real issues. Besides, it shouldn't be up to the most prudish person's sense of morality and taste to set the standard for everyone else.

It no big deal..IMO.
I'm more concerned with the bigger problems this country has.

While i find them embarrassing driving around Iowa behind a trucker with them dangling and young kids like my daughter ask whats that dady? I think this is an opportunity to get to them 1,000.000 dangling nut truckers out there and plaster their rigs with VOTE RON PAUL, HE'LL LEAVE OUR NUTS ALONE! :D
