Kurt Bills has asked for our help

I'm at the point now, where I'm going to be critical of any Paul supporter that doesn't support Bills. Bills is a Ron Paul Republican and if we don't help get him elected then we get stuck with Klobuchar and her liberal votes. When Rand Paul pushed an Amendment to stop foreign aid to Libya, Pakistan and Egypt, Klobuchar voted against it, Bills would have voted for it. Remember Romney will be an afterthought after November, and we have to deal with our elected Senator for the next 6 years. It would be nice to have a sitting US Senator come out and endorse a liberty candidate for President in 2016.

IMHO Bills has to quit worrying about the 45 GOP in that poll who hate him, and energize independents to love him. IMHO he should be talking about NDAA, the Patriot Act, corporate croneyism. Is he?

How do we know that? Or trust that he would keep his word? I mean he wouldn't want to be an anti-semite isolationist or anything.

No Brainer: Klobuchar Should Have Voted to Restrict Aid to Libya, Egypt, and Pakistan

BLOOMINGTON, MN—What happens when a wave of anti-American violence sweeps across a region and culminates in the storming of embassies and the murder of an American Ambassador?

What happens when a country declares an “emergency holiday” to give its citizens the opportunity to protest and intimidate the United States?

The answer: the President of the United States and his Secretary of State cut an apologetic TV ad, and the US Senate reaffirms foreign aid to the very countries attacking us and our values.

Last night the US Senate took a vote to limit aid to Libya, Egypt, and Pakistan until they reverse their anti-American policies and protests, and sufficiently protect our people and property in their countries.

Amy Klobuchar voted NO. Kurt Bills would have voted YES.

“Our foreign policy isn’t working. Americans are getting killed, our embassies are getting stormed, the Pakistan government is sponsoring violent protests against America, and the Egyptian government is reluctant to even condemn attacks on our embassy,” said Bills.

“We shouldn’t be giving billions of dollars in aid to countries which attack and kill American citizens, no less an Ambassador. That’s an easy one.”

“Amy Klobuchar was dead wrong. With a deficit of more than a trillion dollars, it is immoral to borrow money to ship aid to countries that attack America,” Bills concluded.

If you want to get the Minnesota grassroots and more, you might try to get Stebbins on the campaign. It would be a huge signal, if she was supporting the campaign.

Remeber that Kurt Bills endorsed Ron Paul and Ron Paul endorsed him. This should be our top focus.

Kurt Bills' race is very important due to him being at the top of ticket in Minnesota which has the most endorsed candidates by the Republican Liberty Caucus of any state including three for the US House. Given the success of Ron Paul supporters in the MN GOP this November will serve as a referendum on the Liberty movement that can either help or hurt us in the future in MN and nationwide.

Al Franken will also be up for re-election in 2014 and he can easily be defeated by Kurt Bills or another Liberty candidate but we need to show that Liberty candidates do well in general elections to help us win future GOP primaries.

Kurt Bills letter on Constitution Day:

On this day, 225 years ago, the United States of America as we know it was born.

On September 17, 1787, the delegates to the Constitutional Convention signed the Constitution and sent it to the states for ratification. Shortly after its approval, Congress and the States strengthened it by approving the Bill of Rights, which enshrine in our Constitution the basic freedoms that Americans hold dear.

It is those freedoms, more than anything else, which define America. And those freedoms are under attack.

Friends of the Second Amendment obviously aren’t surprised by this. The right to keep and bear arms has been under systematic attack by liberals for decades.

The First Amendment, though, used to be considered sacrosanct. Not too long ago it was common to hear both liberals and conservatives declare that they may despise what someone is saying, but they would fight to the death to preserve their right to say it.

No longer.

Take, for example, the case of the filmmaker who is being blamed for violence in the Middle East. I haven’t watched his movie, and don’t care to. It sounds offensive to me.

But I have no doubt that he had a right to make it and promote it, and it scares me that officials of the US government feel free to pick him up at midnight for questioning, attempt to suppress his work, and finger the blame on him for violence overseas. He had a First Amendment right to say what he wanted, and government has a First Amendment responsibility to defend that right, not suppress it.

By singling this guy out, all the government is doing is encouraging people to bully the US government into suppressing speech they don’t like.

Our protection against unreasonable search is similarly under attack. My opponent Amy Klobuchar, for instance, voted for a measure that would authorize the EPA to fly spy drones around the Midwest to monitor farms for violations of environmental regulations. Every trip to the airport involves invasive pat downs, body scans, and rooting through our belongings.

Government officials are constantly pushing for more control over the Internet, where more of our speech and commerce take place every day. Amy Klobuchar is one of the co-sponsors of a bill that threatens the freedom of the Internet, called PIPA (the Senate version of SOPA), which would give the government sweeping ability to control the distribution of information on the Internet.

Every other member of the Minnesota delegation, except Al Franken, is opposed. That means Keith Ellison and Michele Bachmann agree, but not Amy Klobuchar?

And freedom of religion? Obamacare is taking an axe to that. Catholics are being required to fund abortions and birth control, for instance. You can thank Amy Klobuchar for being the deciding vote on that one.

Most weirdly of all, Assistant Attorney General for Civil Right Edward Perez would not assure Congress that the Obama Administration would not try to criminalize blasphemy.

If an Assistant Attorney General can’t wholeheartedly endorse freedom of religious belief, our Constitution is in trouble. Amy Klobuchar, by the way, votes 95% of the time with Obama.

For 225 years our Constitution has served us well, even if we haven’t always served it well. It enshrines our freedoms, defines our nation, and promises our ability to craft our own lives without government oppression.

What it cannot do, however, is defend itself. It requires us to do that. It promises that we are the authors of our own fate, if we accept that responsibility. We are also the authors of its fate, and we must accept that responsibility.

It is better to let them have some power and sell them on your candidates. That way they aren't likely to actively oppose your candidates. Heck, they may even donate to and volunteer for them. We cannot win this on our own.
Yeah, it's painfully obvious at this point. While I still want the shareholders' majority for party control, we can't purge every last one of them. It's the corrupt few in control in certain areas that gotta go but the old guard rank and file are usually team players absent those corrupt few that galvanize them to sit on the sidelines in crucial races via their internal email hit jobs which spew hatred and dissension.

I guess the bottom line is that this race is indeed a referendum on us and we need to rally for Bills as much as we can while also putting in strong efforts for our winnable candidates in Congressional seats. Even though I'm not envisioning the level of support Rand got, I still think we can make a hard push down the home stretch. Tho, Bills needs some pros on the campaign to give us the edge.

He just posted this:

Kurt Bills said:
Friends,

Some said it couldn't be done.

Others, like you, know what I know: Klobuchar is bad for Minnesotans and the nation. And Minnesotans are remembering that.

And today, a new poll done by an independent source has Klobuchar at 49%.

This validates what our internal polling shows. Klobuchar is vulnerable, and her support continues to erode. She has lost 11 points in the polls since June.

But I can’t beat this big spending extremist without your help.

Your contribution of $100, $50, $25, or even $10 will help me get my message out on the airwaves – and close the remaining gap.

https://kurtbills.com/donate/power-the-campaign/

It is ironic that today is September 25th. On that day in 1990 the polls showed the exact same thing in the Wellstone/Boschwitz race – Wellstone down by 15 points. I’m down by 14, but with Klobuchar under 50 – well, we know how this story will end.

It’s time for us to rise up and say: we have had enough of your crony capitalism. We have had enough of your policies hurting our children and grand-children. But most importantly, we will say:

We can turn this country around and take back our liberty from those who have stolen it from us.

This is our country, we are taking it back.

Please contribute today. We have a critical September 30th deadline for fundraising. And we have to get ourselves on the air to close this gap. I thank you for your continued commitment to the cause.

I was one of those that supported his name to be removed from the forum out of anger for his endorsement of Romney the cheater. But lets give this guy ago.. if in his 1st term has a bad voting record.. then I'll be the first to shout drop him like a rock. My gut says he is good under the hood, but what he did was totally and utterly disgusting... repulsive endorsing the CHEAT.

Sometimes you have to go with your gut, but have a feeling he is legit although misguided.

So, in light of the 9-30 deadline should this be sooner? Am I to presume that Ron will be sending out a blast as well?

I never got the impression that Bills was dissing anyone in the Ron Paul movement. RP himself has been called out for his aides saying worse things in the media than the way some are picking on Bills in this thread.

Remember this above all else: Bills is genuine. He is a hardline paleo-conservative who leans libertarian. Not to keep saying this because I don't think it makes me special or anything, but I am a former student of Kurt Bills and former Apple Valley resident, right next to his district. It's been awhile since High School, but I have some additional perspective on this man and his views that others may not have.

Bills has held Ron Paulian ideas for a long time. He is NOT just a recent convert who attached himself to RP to win the Senate nod. He supported Ron Paul in both 2008 and 2012.

If you pay attention to his recent appearances, he doesn't go around plugging Romney much at all.

I would go so far as to say that he's said less about Romney than Rand. It was simply a quick endorsement to see if the GOPe would change their mind at all, which they haven't. I don't fault him for taking the gamble. I don't see how a Senate nominee in any state can avoid endorsing the party's Presidential nominee. If this were an off year election, it wouldn't have come into play at all.

I have read through this entire thread and I am deeply troubled by the liberty movement repeating the same mistakes over and over and over and over again. We have a candidate, he gets the nomination, it becomes obvious he has no shot, and we continue to throw good money after bad. Bills has no shot at winning. He can't win. We do this every cycle, multiple times a cycle. Instead of throwing money where it might have some use, we use it on ideologically pure candidates. How do I know Bills has no shot? Let's evaluate:

Public Policy Polling says he is down 19 points.
Survey USA says he is down 21 points.

How about the newest poll that just came out that Bills is touting? Bad news, he was down by the exact same percentage the last time Yougov polled it: http://cdn.yougov.com/cumulus_uploads/document/hqsq5tocn6/Tabs_MN.pdf
Five Thirty Eight gives Bills a 0% chance of winning.

Combine all of this with the fact that Romney is going to lose badly in Minnesota along with her nearly $10 million money advantage and Bills will be lucky to keep it within 15 points.

Donate to who you want to donate to, but Bills will lose in November. There are better candidates to donate to.
