Congressman Dennis Kucinich (D-OH)

Redistricting by the Republican-controlled state legislature threw Kucinich into the same district as another Democratic incumbent, Marcy Kaptur. The two had to compete in a primary. Kucinich lost.

Loses by 16% in Ohio to another Democrat. Most likely a net loss for liberty because he was a great voice against war and the fed. Doubtful the woman who unseated him will be as good as he was on those two issues while still carrying all of Kucinich's negatives.

The authoritarians won. I'd move out of the country if I could afford it. I had hope, but it is what it is. Next will be everyone playing the blame game. Person A saying that people B-Z didn't do enough for Paul to win.

Wow, this is a really bad day for liberty (I mean unless we win Alaska).

On the other hand, that means Kucinich will be available to serve in the Paul Administration :)

Redistricting, he lost to another current democratic congresswoman.

Kaptur is comparable to Kucinich. I think one of the reasons they redistricted it the way they did was so they could be sure of forcing one of them to leave. Both went against the grain in speaking out against banker bailouts and banking fraud, particularly notary fraud.

One of the few moments of sanity in government I witnessed was getting to see both Kucinich and Paul speak live at the House in opposition to extending the Patriot Act. The room was almost empty and I was forced to leave when I clapped after Kucinich spoke. America is fucked.

He was also good on a lot of personal liberty issues (tho that had gotten weaker of late) but for all his lacks he was still one of the best actually on office, pity because as stated likely replacements aren't at all probable to be as good/better
