Kirsten Lombard - Agenda 21/Sustainable Development Talk

I would like to see RonPaulForums.com take more of an interest in fighting Agenda 21/ICLEI.

I would like to see RonPaulForums.com take more of an interest in fighting Agenda 21/ICLEI.

Many of us have posted about it in the past..
Mostly we were ignored at Conspiracy Theorists,, or we were over blowing an insignificant NGO paper.

A couple have even argued in favor of it. :(

I never really thought of this as a conspiracy theory, more as a 'too stupid to be real'. Like Calvinism. Sure some people at the top believe, but nobody else is dumb enough to buy into it.

Don't know a lot about Agenda 21, but I do support 'sustainable development,' densification, TOD, and New Urbanism.

The one person at CATO I absolutely cannot stand is Randal O'Toole for his stances and idiotic rantings against those.

Are you kidding? It is being implemented all across the United States.

You need to read up on what you are supporting. I don't think you will, after you do.

You need to learn more about this stuff.

I support Free-Market Environmentalism, but the Federal Government/United Nations uses Environmentalism as a tool for control and I have a problem with that.

When did I say anything about that? I don't support UN/Fed/State government mandated urbanism policies but I certainly do support New Urbanist principles, densification, transit orientated development, and I absolutely detest urban sprawl.

Flashback:

Don't know a lot about Agenda 21, but I do support 'sustainable development,' ...

Agenda 21 is a United Nations program for Environmentalism and Sustainable Development. Be careful about you say you support.

I support universal healthcare, that doesn't mean I support single-payer or Obamacare...

I support sustainable development, but I don't support it mandated by UN and government.

You're using very vague terms that have loaded general meanings, you need to explicitly define what you are talking about.

By sustainable development I mean development that take into account its environmental impact, is as self-sustaining in terms of energy production, waste management, as well as resource use and uses land to the highest possible efficiency.

I like New Urbanism, and I do believe that in a free market in which consumers demand ethical, sustainable, and environmentally conscious business practices on the part of real estate developers we would see development take that form. If you look at the way European cities developed over hundreds of years with almost non-existent centralised urban planning policy and land use regulations we get essentially what New Urbanism proponents advocate in a city's built form.
