Over the weekend, Republicans in the 37th Legislative District gathered to choose delegates to the state convention.

The caucus started out Saturday morning inside Dimmitt Middle School. But it didn't end inside the building.

After supporters of Texas Congressman Ron Paul elected one of their own to chair of the meeting, the gathering was booted to an outside basketball court by King County Republican Party Chairwoman Lori Sotelo.

The move came after attendees irritated Sotelo by rejecting her choice to run the caucus - former King County Councilman David Irons.

Instead, the group voted for Tamara Smilanich, a Paul supporter.

That prompted Sotelo to declare the meeting was no longer a Republican Party event - but a Ron Paul campaign event.

Haha, when they didn't get their way, she just takes their ball and goes home? Way to be mature about it...

Seriously the media and establishment are starting to act extremely childish (and not just like their normal dickish selves). It's just getting pathetic, and they know their grip is slipping...

BTW, I read the title wrong and you almost had me scared there, but that's awesome!!

yeah. This is the same county that broke its rules and had the party unilaterally appoint PCOs who are automatic delegates, and also book a venue for the caucus so small not all could fit, and instead of moving outside, 1000 people simply were turned away and couldn't vote. The campaign formally challenged the PCOs so we will see what happens with that.

Honestly, I don't think she cares about the who wins. She just wants power and hates losing it.

good pic. The raised right arm looks like a salute of some kind. Not really sure though. Maybe she was waving at a Paul supporter. Who knows.
