I just watched a really good documentary last week-end called King Corn. I would suggest you go to the website to find out when this great documentary will be playing on a PBS broadcast in your state. Talk about "poisoning our foods", you need to watch this movie! Then quit buying any and all products that are made with corn by products like corn starch, high fructose corn syrup or corn oil.

If it is on PBS broadcast I don't believe it.

If you start reading labels, you will be amazed at how many things include high fructose corn syrup and/ or cornstarch. It is by far the number one sweetner in foods. As for PBS, their reporting is much more balanced than other sources like Fox (the worst but then again, they don't try that hard to hide their biases other than their "fair and balanced" slogan which is a big joke). You Tube is not a news source. CNN can run a bunch of stupid fluff but usually do a pretty good job as does the BBC.

Pbs???

Actually, I first saw the story on my early morning news page online several weeks ago. When I went to access the story to show a family member a few hours later, the story was gone. The original news story was an interview with the two college grads who produced this film. It was showing all across the states at different college campuses. The fact that it finally came out on PBS does not negate the message: why is the U.S. government subsidizing this corn industry? All seed is produced by Monsanto (which means it is genetically altered), a good percent of the corn is sent for bio-fuels (which have been shown not to produce any substantial difference in CO2 emissions), another good percent is sent for feed for the meat industry, and a very high percentage is sent to produce these corn "sugars" found in our food. The King Korn documentary is a very educational production and should not be dismissed out of hand just because it was aired on PBS.
