A bible verse can be found to support pretty much any position, given enough elasticity in interpretation. When taken as an organic whole, however, it is clear that Christianity endorses love, and condemns violence.

So how the fuck can our majority Christian nation be a war-mongering killing machine?

Simple; because there are actually a small minority of true Christians.
 
I think it's important to note the difference between a "Christian", and a "disciple of Jesus".

Also because there is a difference between "religion" and Faith.
People with neither often confuse the two.
