Keystone Pipeline Thwarted by Individual Property Rights, For Now

As already noted this thread is years old now.

I'm generally opposed to eminent domain takings.

I'm especially opposed to eminent domain takings for private business profit.

But now the pipeline is built, functioning and mostly completed, people and businesses rely it.

And one man, by executive fiat, has shut it all down, rendering it all useless.

$#@! you, $#@! your investment, $#@! your job, $#@! your need for reliable cheap energy, $#@! off entirely.

It is the threat of this exact sort of executive order that the new regime has stated they will enact, that has killed new investment in my area of the energy sector and has rendered me pretty much unemployed.

I get that man, I do, truly. And the shitty answer is? There is no real good answer to give you on that. It wont do any good in the material sense, but I will say, sitting and living in your anger will not save you. Moving forward will. We know The State is what it is, and we know what it does. We've known our whole lives how it stomps out this person, that person, those people... I think you will see in the coming couple years that boot slams down on a whole lot more people a whole lot faster. And sitting in our own personal anger is going to do nothing for ourselves, or our fellow human beings. Who at that time will be just as hurt and taken advantage of as we had been/are.

Like I said, I know that doesn't make things puppies and rainbows. Best I got.

Well, I appreciate the effort.

I haven't got any good answers either...I'm just not keen on committing national suicide.

Maybe bailing out is the answer...who knows.

Everything is a matter of perspective. Maybe national suicide is actually a growth and evolution of the rugged American individualist spirit? That whole cycle, poverty to privilege n such. Seems the whole universe is full of cycles... Sorry I wont ramble. lol

Yeah, well, it sure sucks knowing that me, or worse, my kids and their kids, are stuck in the downward cycle.

Now that doesn't have to be. I see where the world is going, I'm doing what I need to do in order for me to live the way I want to live in spite of all of it. I will do that as long as I'm allowed to, and once I'm not I walk away from their society. If they attempt to stop me doing that, I guess that's the day I go home. But what I wont do, is play the game.

Ah. I thought I remembered eminent domain being an issue. I wonder if they ever found a route where no eminent domain was used?
