Kerry Bentivolio loses primary

The average Republican voter is not tuned into what's going on. They take in all the residual noise from the local media echo chamber, whether it be radio or TV ads. So all these ads make a huge difference when an upstart is trying to claw out of anonymity.

They need to learn more hard lessons, but I'm not sure if the country has time to wait for these stubborn bastards to remove their heads from their asses.

Pretty much this. The overall voting of congress moved in the wrong direction with his loss and people are gloating. Amash did extremely poorly for a incumbent congressmen as well. By the vast majority libertarianism is being rejected hard this election cycle and stupid ass libertarians are cheering because generally their own people are getting defeated.

WTF are you talking about? A libertarian just took out the fucking sitting house speaker. Next time keep your ill-informed opinion to yourself. BTW, Bentivolio sucked.

Precisely. And people clamoring Amash's win as a victory for Tea-Party types seem to ignore the giant sea of losses that came before it and will most definitely come after it. Every vote Ellis got is a person fed up or who didn't like Amash, for whatever their individual reasons. Amash carries a liberty torch, yes, but he also still represents Michigan. If a large majority of people agreed with Amash's votes, he certainly should have gotten more votes. But then, people like to claim that grassroots money is preferable to larger amounts from other sources. There's principle and then there's just realizing that others have way more money than you.

Bull. I seriously doubt most of the voters even knew much about Amash besides the twisted bullshit from the opposition that was blanketing the airwaves ad nauseum in Michigan.

Boehner was beat??

Yes, there are a lot of sheeple voters for the Michigan GOP. People who just want their benefits to keep rolling in and will be scared into voting a certain way because of establishment propaganda. Amash being 'with the terrists' and McMillin's 'war on seniors' probably swayed a lot of worthless, dumbassed voters into voting against liberty on Tuesday. It comes with the territory, and we just have to be smarter about picking candidates next time.

Denninger really got behind his campaign and, like so many others, was horribly disappointed when he started acting like a typical politician. Ron won his district over and over, because he has principles and didn't abandon them when he got elected.

Woulda, shoulda, coulda!

One Turd, Flushed (Bentivolio)

To the dishonorable Mr. Bentivolio:

You deserved to lose, even if your loss was to a bigger ******* than you.

Next time you decide to run for political office you might consider that turning into Benedict Arnold within minutes of winning your seat isn't exactly conducive to the people who helped put you there deciding they'd like to remain in your tent.

As you also discovered Boehner and friends didn't give a friendly **** (say much less a hostile one) about you despite your doing a 180 on issues you ran on and garnered support predicated upon, so pitching in with them and abandoning those issues (and the people who backed you) didn't work out so well either.

I'd rather vote for Beeelzebub and it appears your district's voters saw it the same way.

I regret every single penny of in-kind advertising I ran during your campaign and have since days after the election.

In short: Get out of The People's House you lying snake.

I'm not happy that Kerry lost (Trott is MUCH worse), but there was no way I could justify donating to him again.

The reality is Kerry never earned the seat nor was well liked by the constituency. He was an accidental congressman and an easy target.

All the more reason to go full throttle liberty and attempt to carve out a niche and nation-wide constituency for yourself. At least that way you have a chance to raise enough money to fight the political establishment when they come knockin. Like I said before, Bentivolio was getting terrible advice. He should've hired me to be his chief strategist :D

I tend to agree. The majority are low-information voters. Repeat some falsehood enough times and people will begin parroting that falsehood.

Kerry never had the charisma or personality to pull it off. He won the seat by default rather than a competitive primary like Amash or Massie. He was always going to get knocked off

If you look on the bright side, you lost Kerry Bentivolio but there's a very good chance you're going to gain Clint Didier. On running a campaign and track records: Didier > Bentivolio.

I don't agree with that. If Kerry was content to shun the spotlight, his voting record then becomes the vehicle for how we get to know the man and what makes him tick. He blew it; big time. I think he would've had a decent shot at retaining that seat had he voted right and made a name for himself in doing so.

Exactly! He had the opportunity to become the next Amash or the next Massie. He had a sub-forum on these forums (no easy feat) because we believed his words. Once he came into power, he decideded to "play along to get along". Something a majority of us hate around here as it leads down a slippery slope.

It is like saying I have the perfect wife but every other year, she fucks other dudes. No matter how awesome she is most of the time, some mistakes are unforgivable. How can I donate to Kerry again after what he did? Just because he's a bit better than the other snakes? The lesser of 2 evils? Fk that!

Donating to Kerry wasn't even the realm of possibility for me. He made that turd sandwich all himself. The irony in all this; I'm not even sure if Kerry is bright enough to realize his own fuck up. Doh!

Bentivolio was the Homer Simpson of the Liberty Movement.

Apparently Bentivolio disliked Amash and felt antipathy toward him for some bizarre reason. He also treated very loyal liberty people like ass and alienated them, allowing people from think-tanks like Heritage into his inner circle. If he would have accepted his limitations and followed Amash's lead on pretty much everything, he would have had big time liberty support from in state and out of state. Instead, he was an egomaniac and it cost him. It is actually good that he lost before he could have embarrassed us big time.

Whoopity do. One stupid race. By overwhelming numbers libertarian minded people are being rejected, especially zero compromise libertarians. So next time STFO.
