Justin Amash will email Karl Rove letting him know how much Amash raised between now and Monday, July 15.

Did you see Karl Rove attacking me?

He said this to a crowd in Aspen, Colorado: “The most liberal Republican is Justin Amash of Michigan. [He is] far more liberal than any other Republican.”

That’s probably news to you. And it’s news to the many Congress-watchers who pay attention to my votes and rank my performance in Congress.

Take, for example, my lifetime scores with the following organizations:

The Club for Growth: 100%

The Cato Institute: 100%

FreedomWorks: 100%

(In case Rove still doesn’t believe my score from FreedomWorks, he can check out the picture of the “2012 FreedomFighter Award” that they gave me on Tuesday.)

You’ve got to hand it to Karl Rove, though. It takes some guts for the guy who dreamed up No Child Left Behind and eight straight years of massive federal deficits to accuse me of being “liberal.”

(Maybe he meant it as a compliment? After all, Rove was yukking it up with his elite liberal buddies in Aspen when he made the comment.)

For the record, Karl, I am the Republican who votes least often with Nancy Pelosi. Check the record before you hit the lecture circuit next time.

Rove and others in the Washington political class go out of their way to criticize me. Why? Because they’re threatened by my principled, conservative record. The way I vote in Congress—and the fact that I explain every vote publicly, on Facebook—exposes the cozy relationship between the Democratic and Republican establishment.

Karl’s D.C.-based groups spent up to $390 million in the last election. For what? I certainly haven’t noticed an uptick in conservative leadership this term.

Karl and his Aspen clique are spending hundreds of millions of dollars to elect a particular type of Republican: the type that blindly follows the establishment’s agenda, whether or not that agenda encourages personal responsibility or defends individual liberty. It’s time for Karl to go back to the drawing board (or whiteboard?) and rethink his criticism of real conservative leadership.

I’ve come up with a plan to respond to Karl Rove. I think you’ll like it, but I need your help to make it happen.

I want to show Karl Rove that his outlandish comments backfired. I want to show him that after spending hundreds of millions of dollars and getting wiped out in the last election, he’s the one who has been marginalized, not principled leaders like me.

Between now and Monday, I’m going to hold a fundraising drive. After the fundraising drive is over, I’m going to write a personal e-mail to Karl Rove telling him how much we’ve raised. If you donate between now and Monday, I'll bcc you on my e-mail to Karl Rove. It will be an e-mail that you won’t want to miss.

Do me a favor and forward this e-mail to five of your friends. And while you’re sharing this e-mail, would you make a contribution to my campaign? You can see from Rove’s comments that both the Democrats and the establishment Republicans are after me, and they have the funding to make my re-election difficult.

Let’s show Karl Rove that he doesn’t speak for us. Donate now, and I’ll include you on the personal e-mail I’ll send to Karl next week.

Thanks again for your continued support.

P.S. It’s kind of funny when out-of-touch insiders like Karl Rove make ridiculous accusations like my being the “most liberal” Republican. But Rove’s deep pockets are no laughing matter. Can you help me even the score? Show Karl that you have my back by donating $20, $50, $100, or $250 to my campaign.

P.P.S. I’m going to e-mail Karl next week to tell him how much you’ve supported me. Show your support of my principled, conservative leadership by donating now. You won’t want to miss the e-mail I’m drafting to Rove!

Unfortunately it now seems that per OpenCongress Pelosi is least often voting with Virginia Foxx. One can imagine the "fact-checkers" are typing furiously away.
