Justice Ruth Ginsburg Tells Egyptians: Don't Model Government on U.S. Constitution

Sorry, it does not directly relate to voting rights but does say they were less of a person than "free men". It said that not all men (or women) were equal. Ginsburg was suggesting that other constitutions were better at this (equality) than our own was.

The writings of those that were deists explicitly state their belief in God.
The rejection of religion as full of superstition, as useless to consider and a danger to reasonable thought, was only one step away from rejecting god for the same reasons, only with more danger in a society that had a habit of persecuting atheists.

What I think she meant is they are better at ensuring "social justice" and creating "equal opportunity" through mandates, "positive discrimination" and redistribution of wealth.

No constitution guarantees equality under the law and protects individual liberty as well as the US Constitution.

I didn't hear her talking about any mandates or reditribution of wealth (but I did not watch the entire interview).

I got a neg rep for this comment, probably by fools who don't realize the harm ethnic Arabs have inflicted upon other Middle Eastern cultures using Islam as a tool. Egypt has it's own history to be proud of, so do other people such as the Persians, Levantines, Berbers, and so forth. Unfortunately much of their own unique culture was lost due to ethno-racist arabization. Islam is largely to blame.

speaking of denigration...wow

It's not denigration, but simply fact. The Bible is quite clear on this:

"Let the women learn in silence with all subjection. But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence. For Adam was first formed, then Eve. And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression." (I Timothy 2:11-14)

Because women are more susceptible to trust their emotions than reason and a women should never be in a position of authority over men.

That is a misogynist statement. I have seen many women in successful positions of power over men. In fact we might live in a better world were women given their right place within creation. This is why monotheistic religions fail, because God is viewed as a man with a big dick in the sky that created everything, and rules over everything. This is also why Christianity is a primarily bloody religion; more people have died under the banner of Christianity than any other belief system worldwide.

Your statement shows you to be uncivilized, sexist and more like a neanderthal than a modern man.

The Bible says alot of things that aren't necessarily fact. Your opinions, in general, aren't always fact.

I usually give you a pass on here as far as your personal beliefs are concerned, because you do seem to understand the concept of liberty as it applies to gov't power and use of that power.

But sometimes I just smh at what you believe. I find some of it sickening.

That is a misogynist statement. TI have seen many women in successful positions of power over men.

There is no hatred for women, which is what misogynism means. I do not hate women, but I do believe in complementary gender roles as the Bible teaches and our natural abilities prove.

In fact we might live in a better world were women given their right place within creation.
It can be argues that we live in a much worse society due to feminism.

That's not true. God created both man and woman in His image.

This is also why Christianity is a primarily bloody religion; more people have died under the banner of Christianity than any other belief system worldwide.

Again, not true. Communism alone killed over 100 million people in the 20th Century.

Your statement shows you to be uncivilized, sexist and more like a neanderthal than a modern man.
If a "modern man" is one who does not respect God, the differences between men and women and that both are created in God's image and are complimentary to one another, then I don't want to be a "modern man".

QUOTE]

That number has been disputed and criticized, and begs the question "how many have died from capitalism?"

The rest of the post isn't even worth it.

Being a woman who has been in a position of power over men, I can understand where you are coming from Eduardo.

In my personal experience, the men with whom I managed were more happy and productive in their work under me than they were under another man, or woman for that matter. Why, you ask?

Because I treated every single individual(man or woman) with respect, set high expectations for them to reach, and commended them when they reached them(as most did). The ones who did not reach their goals were not denegrated, they were still treated with respect and we worked together to figure out the reason why they hadn't reached their achievements. I did so well at my job that I was promoted multiple times within that company, even though I had been there less than a year. They actually had to go to corporate and fight to get me my promotions(men did this for me) since it was against company policy for an individual to rise so quickly and across so many departments of the company. I changed the way that entire place ran and made the company shitloads of money in the process. We had happier, healthier and more productive people in our company, and it showed when the quarterly earnings rolled around.

But I believe I may be a bit of an enigma, since most of the other women that I had to deal with on a daily basis were unhappy and terribly insecure. When they did reach positions of power, they would hold it over the other women(myself included) and men. To say they were difficult to deal with would be an understatement. But not all are that way, just look at me. It may help that I think more like a guy sometimes(an ass man myself;)) but even at that I was still compassionate to those under my management. I just expected alot out of them, and I showed them that they could respect me because I didn't mind getting down in the dirt and working my ass off with them. THAT is what makes a good manager, not your sex.

I'd give the Egyptians the same advice, seeing as the US Constitution allots far too much power to both the federal and state governments.

Indeed. That is what tends happens when people begin worshiping the tyrannical, blood-thirsty, exclusionist, megalomaniacal god of the Hebrews.

The writings of those that were deists explicitly state their belief in God.

Though they may have been Deists, this does not mean that they believed in a god even remotely resembling the god of the Bible, who condemns people to eternal suffering for falling in love with someone of the same sex or doing some form of labor on the "wrong" day of the week.
