Just heard on my local news that YOUNG FAMILIES are lining out the doors...

lol.. pretty funny.

College kids, in general, are stupid for being supposedly so "smart". They don't actually research anything, or they believe that socialist ideas work. Not all of them, mind you, but a majority of them (well, a minority and the other idiots that just follow the band wagon jump on).

I am one myself, but I also have more experience and am a bit older than my peers.

(22year old college freshman... and a veteran so the Paul issues hit home for me..)

I'm in the same boat as you. Start my 1st semester at uni in 1 week after serving 4 years in the USMC. Kind of anxious to see how different I am compared to the 18 yr old freshman.

Back on to Obama, I have a theory that all these young girls 18-21 all vote for Obama because he represents the coolness and stylistic look (all young womens favorite songs these days are from black hip hop rappers/singer) and they see alittle of that in Barack. Most don't even know what he stands for as confirmed by myself asking young girls about Obama.

Obama's appeal comes from the fact that people see him as being honest.

Most people you talk to say that there are two honest candidates. Ron Paul and Obama. ( Because they don't know about Dennis...)

And I agree. Out of everyone besides Ron and Dennis, Obama looks to be the most honest. Also, he is a great speaker. He's young, good looking and healthy.

Also, he says things like "I won't have people like Dick Cheney sitting at my table, helping me with decisions. I"ll have college professors and scientists. )

I am all for Ron Paul, but Obama isn't the most horrible candidate the U.S has had, not by a long shot. I can see why people like him. I respect him a lot.

+1

I agree with this sentiment. Out of all the candidates, Ron Paul is myc FIRST choice...but if we are looking at ANY_OTHER_REPUB vs. Obama I would pick Obama (assuming Ron Paul doesnt run Independant). Sure Obama is not going to fix the economy nor does he have strong libertarian principles, but he has only been in Washington for 2 years...not long enough to corrupt him.

But Obama spent 6 years in the Illinois State Senate representing a Chicago district -
plenty of opportunity to be corrupted. ;)

Obama voted for Bush-McCain-Kennedy's so-called comprehensive immigration reform, the worst piece of legislation in my lifetime and the final nail in the coffin for American sovereignty (and the largest increase in the welfare state, ever). That alone rules out my ever voting for this guy.

I don't care how good looking or how good a speaker a candidate is. It's the issues.

more likely to mirror what happened in Iowa. Not to be a downer, but the young people are being more inspired by Obama's delivery and are rallying behind him in the perception that he is kicking the old power elite (hillary) out of washington.

I hate to say it, but I fear you are right.

Can someone PLEASE explain to me what the Obama appeal is? He's young? So what? He's black? So what? I'm voting ideas, not race and the young people should as well...

What gives? I even went to his web site to see what all the fuss was about and all I saw were promises to install more government handout programs. WTF?

It is quite simple. People who don't take the time to research their vote, will make the choice based on image alone. So what? Every reason you listed is why many are voting for him.

All hope, no substance.

screw the boomers. the "boomer generation" is the "completely screw up the country then leave the problems for the x'ers b/c they are too big to deal with" generation.

Boomers always were socialists and always will be socialists. Kick'em out and hang'em for all I care.

Meanwhile your generation lines up to vote for Obama. Way to go...

I have to agree with you. I simply cannot vote for any of the other GOP candidates. And if the chosen one does not get us out of this war - look out.

its the anti establishment vote! Seems like part of the message got through. If the Obama trend continues, we will need a summer indy run to get the other part of the message through.

You know the part where we follow the constitution and all the jazz.

For some reason I don't think New Hampshire people are lining up out the door to vote for Obama. I've been to New Hampshire, and the people there don't strike me as being that "liberal" in their views. Also the people in New Hampshire value experience, and a proven track record. Obama will beat Hilary, but there is not a mass hemhorrage for indies to swing to Obama, in my opinion. We will find out soon, though.

If i was a democrat i would be voting Obama ANYONE BUT HILLARY!!!

Good for them. Obama is my second choice even though hes probably a crooked liar OR will turn out to be one. Only one reason i would vote for him in the general NO MORE NEOCONS.
