Just heard on my local news that YOUNG FAMILIES are lining out the doors...

...Could be a good sign for RP.

:)

more likely to mirror what happened in Iowa. Not to be a downer, but the young people are being more inspired by Obama's delivery and are rallying behind him in the perception that he is kicking the old power elite (hillary) out of washington.

its a generational war, the masses of young are ready to overthrow the baby boomer rule once and for all.

If I'm not mistaken they're lining to vote for Democrats who are running out of ballots.

Perhaps an idea to try convert some of the people lining up or is that forbidden?

Can someone PLEASE explain to me what the Obama appeal is? He's young? So what? He's black? So what? I'm voting ideas, not race and the young people should as well...

What gives? I even went to his web site to see what all the fuss was about and all I saw were promises to install more government handout programs. WTF?

it is my opinion that those young people will only be converted once they realize who the real change candidate is. Thats not going to happen with the R tag.

if this trend continues, it won't matter if we win the Repub candidacy. We will need to declare an independent run, dispel these rumors of racism, and do a better job of converting the youth vote over the summer.

He has been hyped up on every major media outlet, including C-Span, MSNBC, FOX, CNN, ABC, NBC, CBS and more, and most newspapers as well! Never think this media does not control the mindwashing of the citizens. Just sheeple, following the pack. More than likely the ballot report on being short is all hype as well.

Obama's appeal comes from the fact that people see him as being honest.

Most people you talk to say that there are two honest candidates. Ron Paul and Obama. ( Because they don't know about Dennis...)

And I agree. Out of everyone besides Ron and Dennis, Obama looks to be the most honest. Also, he is a great speaker. He's young, good looking and healthy.

Also, he says things like "I won't have people like Dick Cheney sitting at my table, helping me with decisions. I"ll have college professors and scientists. )

I am all for Ron Paul, but Obama isn't the most horrible candidate the U.S has had, not by a long shot. I can see why people like him. I respect him a lot.

i tend to be more of a realist on this issue. Ron Paul is absolutely correct about the young people wanting to change the country. Unfortunately, our candidate is not a smooth talker so I think even if he did get the media coverage we'd see the bandwagon youth go to the guy with more sex appeal and of course that is Obama.

Add to that, our young friends see the revolution in terms of getting rid of establishment candidates that are more familiar to them (hillary).

I think once it is clear that Hillary is trashed and there is no threat from the establishment, we will be able to get back to focusing on the issues. If the trend continues from Iowa through N.H. and in the bigger states ( I think it will ) then we would be wise to start focusing on an indy run and converting our friends over the summer by taking the time to make the message of change clear.

He's young and he's black. Even if you know nothing else about him - you know that he is a change from what we've had for 40 + years. It's voting against the establishment of old white men.

I mean even if a lot are voting for obama it doesnt mean we won't get our share.\

and people see obama as change but thats as far as they think it through. They don't realize he's just another republicancrat that will screw us over and pay lip service to the corporations.

They'll figure it out after a year or so of his rule.

He's a motivational speaker and a uniter - and how much easier can it be to promise everyone the fruit of others' labor? The moral intelligence of the majority is blind and they are falling in line.

College profs sit back in their big chairs completely convinced that they are world experts on everything. Half the time they have never actually worked or tested what they know in the real world. I would take the president of a successful company over a college professor anyday in the same field.

screw the boomers. the "boomer generation" is the "completely screw up the country then leave the problems for the x'ers b/c they are too big to deal with" generation.

Boomers always were socialists and always will be socialists. Kick'em out and hang'em for all I care.

I agree, but most people don't know that. Especially kids that are in college...who will be voting for Obama.

He's barely squeaking by, too. He got a huge bump from Iowa, but he's not about change.

Ron Paul needs to work on getting his message out more effectively. He is the only Republican who could take on Obama. Why?

As Mitt Romney said, Obama is a senator killer. He is seen as a radical force in Congress, an agent of change. McCain and HRC are seen as Washington insiders, political elitists who have sold out the average American. Even Edwards can't peddle his populism. The average voter is wary, because he has a checkered past with the war and lobbyists.

Ron Paul ran against Reagan as a Libertarian, but he needs to sell how he can be an agent of change for the GOP - without sounding shrill. It will be hard, but if more voters understood how his economic policies would benefit the economy, how he wants to go back to a more fiscal and social conservative tradition in the Republican party, how the Republicans have adopted a Democratic Party platform and how fear-mongering will not help recapture their base - we have all heard this. The campaign needs to help, and Ron Paul should get a speech coach, get a press / media coordinator. I mean the Democrats and most candidates have assistants who are back and forth on their Blackberries with journalists during the debates. We don't even know how to answer phones or retrieve important mail like invitations from the NRA.

Ron Paul could take Obama, but the idea is that corrupt old, white men have brought ruination upon us. Obama has a white mother, his father is from Kenya, he hung with Black Panthers. Obama lived in Hawaii and Indonesia, yet he talks like he grew up in Georgia, probably from hanging out with Oprah. He is exactly the elite establishment that has really destroyed this country by continuing and spreading the war, outsourcing American jobs and destroying our economy.

It's the same appeal JFK had. He's young, full of "fresh ideas," he has an attractive family, and he is a great speaker. He's not Ron Paul who by some is seen as an old white fuddy-duddy like the rest of Washington.
