The doctor was first on the ballot! ( Dearborn ) The electronic feeders read '8 ballots' cast so far this morning. If you're in Michigan make sure you get everyone you know to vote, they make you fillout an index card for the ballot you want so you its really an OPEN PRIMARY, not a closed one.

I heard the same thing. My buddy lives in Kalamazoo and voted an hour ago. Said he was number 12 to vote in his district.

I find it interesting reading Dem blogs that they are encouraging each other to ruin Romeny's chances and telling all to vote for Santorum.. the reasoning is that he doesn't have a chance to win against Obama.. Even the die hard liberals know that Ron Paul would give Obama a challenge...

Those democrats are traitors to the USA. They are voting in the best interest of their party... not in the best interest of everyone in the USA. So f**k these democrats and I hope they will be the first ones to be in detention centers =P.

Yeah, I did too. Unfortunately he has something like 0% in early primary voting in Michigan.

I just called my parents and reminded them to vote for Ron Paul today. So there are couple more votes.

My grandparents are a lost cause so I'm not even going to bother with them. They'll probably end up voting for Santorum because they hate Romney. Every time Ron is brought up they always go straight to his ear mark spending for some reason. As if its something especially bad. I always explain how he's never voted for earmarks and how that money would be spent anyways, but its like trying to convince a ditzy blond - in one ear and out the other. They just kind of go "ehhhhh."

Try explaining with visuals. Try this example. Get your G'Parents in a room together. Pull out a $5 bill. Go to grandma and say this 5 dollar bill represents your tax dollars held by the Gov. You play the gov. holding her money. Now explain Grand Pa is going to pretend to be Ron Paul. Tell Grand Ma that Gramps refused to vote for a bill to provide funds for experiment rats but also in the bill is way to get her $5 back from you. Ask your Grand Ma what she thinks about that. She'll probably not like it. Tell her even though Gramps (Ron Paul) didn't vote for it, the bill got passed anyways. Now that the bill is passed, the gov has to raise taxes in order for you to get your $5. Even though Gramps (Ron Paul) didn't vote for the bill, there is a way for Gramps to still get that $5 in Grandma's pocket. Tell Grandma to ask Gramps to ask you to give Grandma her $5. When he does, say sure and hand the $5 to your Gramps and tell him to give the $5 bill to Grandma. Explain that if Gramps would have never asked you for the $5, you would have just gave the $5 to someone else.

Explain to them that's how the earmarks work and because its such a "Dirty" part of politics that why Ron Paul doesn't like it, but he is not about to let the gov. give your tax dollars (the $5 bill) to someone else.

Hopefully with this little visual they'll understand it better and it only cost you $5. Worst case scenario they won't and it cost you $5 to explain. Either way, they are your Grandparents and you love them, so what's $5.

Remember Ron received 6.3% or 54,475 votes in the 2008 Michigan Primary. 15% of the Vote Today would be a dramatic rise especially with the fact that he only Campaigned in the State for three days this month.

Additional: While getting 15% or more is certainly something to shoot for there are only 2 at large delegates so it's really down to the Congressional Districts rather than any specific state wide total. (which means we've got an even better shot of picking up delegates )

There are Ron Paul signs up all over campus at NMU. One every 20-30 feet . I haven't noticed any other candidates' signs.
