Just got back from Michigan voting

Make sure to tweet/facebook all your friends who live in Michigan. Some people think you need to be a Republican to vote so they do not show up.

Since the Muslim community seems to be more pro-Paul, could anybody get some vehicles to perhaps the Muslim community centers/areas in Michigan?

my fiance and i voted absentee for ron paul a few weeks ago
Yeah, I did too. Unfortunately he has something like 0% in early primary voting in Michigan.

I just called my parents and reminded them to vote for Ron Paul today. So there are couple more votes.

My grandparents are a lost cause so I'm not even going to bother with them. They'll probably end up voting for Santorum because they hate Romney. Every time Ron is brought up they always go straight to his ear mark spending for some reason. As if its something especially bad. I always explain how he's never voted for earmarks and how that money would be spent anyways, but its like trying to convince a ditzy blond - in one ear and out the other. They just kind of go "ehhhhh."

that was by the PPP poll which means out of the say 900 they called, out of the Republican primary voters, out of the ones that had already voted and would answer, he had zero. So it wasn't an actual count, and that substrata wasn't reliably large.

Yeah, but Rick Santorum is the King of Earmarks....

Yeah, but Rick Santorum is the King of Earmarks....

I think they are more interested in the fact that Ron is often talked about as being extremely principled. They view the earmarks as a smudge on his record and that makes them think he is no different from the rest. I've addressed this when I talk to them, but they don't really care. There is only so much someone can do. Its hard trying to find a balance between talking about him 24/7 every time i see them and engaging in a good conversation that they are interested in.

The earmarks seem pretty simple to me... my Dad brought them up the other day.... from listening to Paul explain it:

The government has already taken money from the people. Paul earmarks it so that it gets used for projects that benefit people. If it's not earmarked, the money doesn't come back to us, but is used elsewhere... usually foreign aid or war.

Correct me if I'm faulty in my understanding...

Santorum earmarked too, AND HE VOTED FOR THEM

At my precinct there were 12 people on the ballot and Ron was the 10th one, I had to look to find him, why are Bachmann, Cain, Perry, etc still on the ballot and HIGHER UP ON THE LIST THAN RON!?!?!?!?

There was a tent set up 150 ft outside of the polling place where the people were pushing for a proposal on our town's ballots. I had some extra pamphlets and so they offered to pass them out to incoming voters as people come up to them to get free coffee and cookies. I also got three of my school colleagues to vote for the Good Doctor today. Hoping and Praying we shock the world with a Michigan win.

my guess is that they all filed a while back and the ballots were created months ago. Depending on your states rules, ballot position can be different from county to county or the same statewide. Lets hope ron is higher then 10th in other counties. I know some states select a letter and go in alphabetical order, simply draw names, have the establishment pick their favs ;) etc...

All these great stories about people coming out to vote in Michigan AND bringing their friends and family out to vote are really making my day!! :-D

A win in Michigan is clearly unrealistic, but if we can make it above 15%, that would be great, and if we reach 20%, that would be GOLD.
